I haven't seen the extended cut, but always personally prefer the extended editions over the regular cut.
Extended cuts don't necessarily = better.
The long cut of CINEMA PARADISO is objectively worse than the theatrical cut.
The Producer's cut of DANCES WITH WOLVES absolutely destroys the pacing and flow of the film. (It says "Director's Cut"- but Kevin Costner had nothing to do with it - it was done by producer Jim Wilson.)
I am absolutely FOR extended cuts that are RESTORING essential things that were lost (because they wanted to shoehorn in more screenings per day at the cinema with a shorter running time)
But, I bristle at films that just dump back in everything from the cutting room floor.
I was SO excited to see the 1 hour of deleted scense on the PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES 4k disc. After watching them, I totally understood WHY they were cut, and GRATEFUL that they were cut. Thank God they didn't try to put them in as an extended cut.

There's nothing of value there. It isn't a real exended cut, it was just sony ramming some filler deleted scenes in so they could extend the theatrical run and break the $2Bn mark at the BO. Which they failed to do, finishing on $1.92Bn lol

The promotional VHS sent out ahead of the theatrical release looked cool with the 20th Century logo at the top (amd movie title), with the faux wear and tear too.
I like the steel but would have preferred if they'd replicated more of this retro 80's feel.

So that's why it looks so cluttered on the steelbook, the corridor bit was meant to have the title...

The front image is pretty nice, although I always dislike smaller centralized image back artwork. I get why they cropped out the title on the front to zoom in on the artwork. But the complete image with the full corridor and the title would have definitely looked much better.

How disappointing, sometimes due to this issues makes me quit collecting, when you happily waiting for the preorders and surprises you
Agreed. Though when it works it can be a joy though.

Also, if u collect gaming steelbooks I'm launching a brand new Premium steelbook line for PS5 Titles where I ship in a box with heavy padding. So every customer gets a great experience day 1!
