American Psycho (2000)

Based on acclaimed author Bret Easton Ellis’ hit novel of the same name, Christian Bale took the big screen by storm as the iconic Patrick Bateman, a New York City yuppie with a dark double life.

With an all-star supporting cast including Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Josh Lucas, Chloë Sevigny, Justin Theroux, and Reese Witherspoon, American Psycho is a bloodthirsty satirical dissection of sanity and consumerism in the video age, and a must-see piece of contemporary cinema history.

Patrick Bateman is a high-powered Wall Street executive – rich, handsome, and highly intelligent. In many ways, he’s just like everyone else enjoying the excesses of America in the 80s. But unlike his colleagues, Patrick prefers murders and executions to mergers and acquisitions!

Patrick Bateman is dead, but his evil legacy continues in the body of Rachael Newman, the only victim who managed to escape Bateman’s grasp. However, she did not remain unscathed from the encounter; instead, Rachael has developed an obsession with serial killers.

huh? it has AP1 and AP2
Joking Not Funny GIF

It was a reference to AP2 being edited together as a sequel, rather than having always being intended to be one.

Film critic Rob Gonsalves wrote, "American Psycho 2 wasn't even supposed to be an American Psycho sequel, for Christ's sake! Lions Gate noticed that the first film got critical acclaim and didn't do too poorly in theaters, so they dusted off an unrelated script and modified it to link it (tenuously) to the first film."

In 2005, Kunis expressed embarrassment over the film and spoke out against the idea of a third entry. "Please—somebody stop this", she said. "Write a petition. When I did the second one, I didn't know it would be American Psycho II. It was supposed to be a different project, and it was re-edited, but, ooh … I don't know. Bad."
