Interesting the experts over at bd forum have said the 4k disc is only slightly better than the blu ray disc and not worth the upgrade, thats saved me £30

Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were both shot on 35 mm photochemical film and finished as a 2K Digital Intermediate

So Casino Royale 4K UHD release was always going to be just an upscale with HDR effect added

None of the Daniel Craig bond films are massive upgrades except maybe sky fall that I think was shot digitally and has fantastic colour rendition. They are all better than the blu rays but not reference material. Normally film shot transfers are greatly improved and I’m a big fan of film personally. Maybe the blu rays were quite good already Or maybe the HDR pass was a little light. Spectre is particularly flat. Also the cinematographer on skyfall did Bladerunner 2049 I think so it all adds up. I already have the (not complete) Daniel Craig collection so this isn’t for me as the steelbook doesn’t blow me away. I do like it though and the chip is nice.

The steelbook is let down by an awful finish. Was hoping for some spot gloss to make it pop like it shows on the mock up. It looks awful and lacklustre in hand. I thought these were supposed to be premium.

That's a bit naff. Printed slip rear and a dull steel finish. Glad I passed. The original glossy blu-ray steel is so much better.

One of my all time fav bonds, but the artwork is terrible. Most bond movies are...
Any of you peeps with fancy photoshop skills make a gorgeous concept for me to drool over? :hungry:

You thought wrong. ToC has never been premium. Higher prices don't make a premium release.

Huh it really doesn't look great, does it? Considering cancelling my Amazon order now. After all I did finally track down a copy of the Zavvi steelbook only before this was announced.
