The cost of the special editions probably cost more than building the daleks in the film
The film production budget in 1965 was £180,000
It cost lost more than £50 to build the Daleks for the 1965 film

The Eight Hero Daleks Props seen in the film

Eight Daleks main props it was average cost of approximately £350 each per Daleks in 1965
These was Made by Shawcraft

For some FX shots Backround Daleks used in Film
10 Dalek extras were made. Technically these were the first Daleks not to be built by Shawcraft, as they were created at the Plaster shop at Shepperton studios at a cost of £100 each in 1965

Dr. Who and the Daleks info about the production

Allowing for Inflation £180,000 in 1965 would be £3,108,282.53 in 2022

Cost £350 for 1 Daleks prop in 1965

Value of 1965 British Pounds today

Allowing for Inflation
£350 in 1965 is £6,043.88 in 2022 ;)

£100 in 1965 is £1,726.82 in 2022

Not really a fan of this art, and the boxset content doesn't really do anything for me either. Also, wasn't the last restoration pretty perfect as it was? I remember seeing it in the cinema to commemorate Peter Cushin's 100th birthday and they looked great. The one thing I wasnt keen on was the sound restoration...whenever people weren't speaking the sound seemed to sound noticeably muted. As if they had a separate channel for the dialogue and just switched it on and off to avoid hiss.

Collector's Edition and Steelbook Edition

UK unboxing shows both editions
The Video also covers the restoration involved

Steelbook is Gloss Finish

Not my videos
