Better this than these horrendously looking, titleless Steelbooks with poorly cropped original poster art and crappy finish.since these particular steels seem to have a crap flaky finish that peels off in my experience
It’s legit Zavvi and HMV showing the artwork and also lists the Blu-ray Disc extrasDon’t know if this is legit but apparently the art and specs. Release date 27th July

Annoys me no title on the front![]()

I’m happy with it and I hope this means I can skip the criterion if it it’s got the same transfer but I also wish the black was purpleWould have preferred the lush purple background instead of the black. I'm so wary of faded, streaky finishes on black backgrounds.
I suppose a title was too much to hope for then
Oh well. At least it's mostly 3/4 of the poster art.
Strike this as a win...so far at least.
I'd near enough guarantee it'll be Criterion's master Their's was of the International cut only as well, and it was created using 35mm prints provided by WB. I'd imagine the encode will differ though, and the extras are obviously different.Sweet. So does this mean I no longer need pick up the criterion? Any tech bods able to confirm it’s the same transfer or not?

If it's spot gloss, then it's logical to assume that'll be on the mirror, so the black parts will still be matte. Or rather covered in matte, as they seem to lay the glossy layer first.I really hope it's spot gloss, as that'll be a bit of a streaky mess if WB just go with matte.
Yep, which will mean it won't be streaky. Matte over a gloss base layer isn't streaky. If it's spot gloss, then it's logical to assume that'll be on the mirror, so the black parts will still be matte. Or rather covered in matte, as they seem to lay the glossy layer first.
Honestly, I think this actually works better without the title. The main image would've had to be shrunk down to accommodate it. The art on the other white Kubrick steels are smaller, and simpler, so it suits them more imo. It'd look more like this:Where's the effin title?!

Oh, right, I see what you mean then.Yep, which will mean it won't be streaky. Matte over a gloss base layer isn't streaky.
