I'm on the thought path to cancelling all of my remaining Film Vault steels now. Not impressed by the finishes on any of them to be honest.

Ooh god thats not looking great too. Mainly because of the empty space where a title should be. It just don’t look right on a steel. And again it looks so much better on the bigger box which I’m literally looking at in hand this second.

Have you got that in hand? Looks plain matte?

Only 2001 has spot gloss to it, so 3 out of 4 so far are matte. Big missed opportunity with spot glossing on this Film Vault Line. Also someone must have screwed up in the warehouse, as the releasedate for Jaws and Goodfellas are 2 weeks from now.

Yeah release date in EU says 29th og July, but I received these in the mail today

Only 2001 has spot gloss to it, so 3 out of 4 so far are matte. Big missed opportunity with spot glossing on this Film Vault Line. Also someone must have screwed up in the warehouse, as the releasedate for Jaws and Goodfellas are 2 weeks from now.

Ah cheers for that. Yeah the 3 figures and the car should’ve been glossed and the shark fin on jaws. I think goodfellas looks a tad better than Scarface but the empty space looks worse on the steel. Jaws looks decent though but I just don’t know what to do now. I’ll prob keep jaws because the image translates better on a steelbook but I don’t think I need this one due to having the bigger box version like with Scarface. I ended up sending that one back

Strange they started by doing 2001 in gloss and then nothing else, not keeping my hopes high for the rest. Waiting for Shawshank in august (which I prob will receive 2 weeks early aswell

They’ve basically repeated their idiocy.

They’ll ask for feedback on these soon and then ignore it, scrap them and re print them all on digibooks! Lol

EU countries has different release dates in regards to film vault range to UK.

Italy release of Goodfellas was Yesterday July 16th.

100%, and honestly I can't see them listening (or lingering here to hear it) anyway. Agreed, such poor decisions. I had hopes with the finish on 2001, but that is dwindling now. Fingers crossed for BR and Shawshank, but I'm not optimistic.

Absolute streaky bacon bollox! This art really don’t work on a steel. Shame because I like the actual art. Plus it’s a different colour to the original bigger box version. This is more green. The original release was more blue. Also got spine slashes on the slip. Going straight back

The background colour being a bit different isn't too surprising, it looks metallic so there'll be more reflections but there's also less contrast/detail which detracts from the art a bit.

Unfortunately mine also has a slash right across the title, guess it's going back.

Eughh. That looks sh!t. Didn't look so bad through the PET. Probably won't open mine now tbh. Genuinely, Apollo is going to look TERRIBLE, with the grey. BR won't fair much better.

Mine arrived from HMV today as well, but like others, there's a spine slash.. So this is going back. HMV are getting very sloppy, my JAWS 3 Collectors set arrived with a deep spine slash as well. Don't know if it's worth me giving HMV a chance anymore, they are really appalling lately, with selling on damaged returns, poorly packaging sets and so on. only the delivery time is good.

Surely there are logistics paperwork and graphics box warnings on the shipping crates?

No essentially about it, they go to the trouble and expense of packaging that's suitable for these products so at some level they do consider it important but then let someone **** it up in the warehouse, what's the point?

They all need training, and if they do it they need to be sacked. If i was running those companies i wouldn't let warehouse staff cut boxes downward into the product. So easy to just cut open a box horizontally, that's what i do opening my delivered items.
It's not any quicker, it;s just dumb or not care attitude.

By the time they get trained, they're probably let go or quit and are then replaced by the next guy.
