No I meant the The North American Star Wars poster art steelbooks had streaky gloss.
Apart from the new silver disney 100 series, the only NA steels for star wars 1-6 have been the original 1080p releases from fox. Big heads on the front, theatrical poster art on the back.

If you're talking about the more recent 4K releases, with the theatrical art on the front, those aren't NA releases. They're from the UK/Europe. I don't think they're streaky myself.

SteelBooks manufactured by Scanavo in north america don't use Zero Finish that only happens SteelBooks made in Europe

SteelBooks made in north america finishes can be either satin or spot gloss or full gloss
Lot of collector's confuse satin as a matte finish in USA

SteelBooks made in europe finishes can be either matte or zero finish or spot gloss or full gloss
Lot of collector's confuse zero finish as a matte finish

There has been some SteelBooks released in USA that was made in Europe that's how some of the USA releases can be a matte finish or zero finish
That happens less often as most USA SteelBooks are now manufactured in Scanavo North America plant and is why they get lot more gloss finish SteelBooks than Europe

Oh my goodness. Yes I forgot that the poster art steelbooks came from Zavvi.

When I was thinking of poster art steelbooks from North America I realize I was thinking of the MCU wave they did.

What a mess I've created lol.

Haha it all blends into one after a while! So those mcu 4k ones with the tacky matching borders? Those weren't so great. Spot gloss finish, and I think all had this intentional distressed look to them, like they were supposed to have fold lines running across the artwork. What an odd design choice that was.

What’s it like in hand? Need to know whether to go for this or the US
It’s a nice finish, possibly zero but not dull in any way. With no logos or crap on the back I would go for the UK one.
I was planning to do the same thing as you and wait until I hear what it’s like but I forgot I had ordered it.

Edit: looking again, i think it may just be matte but it looks really good so it’s a bit hard tell.

Fair enough. Really hoping that front image would be spot glossed.

With the slip on you do have a glossy title and whatever is going on with the pumpkin and leaves. So the whole thing looks good.
Did the US one have a different finish?
Yeah the US is full gloss

Looks fine to me. Good colours and not streaky. Would gloss have been better, obviously, but not enough for me to bother with the import when the UK copy only cost £24 from hmv.

two annoyances.

One: the forced language selection. 2023 and still a player and disc can’t figure out the language selection automatically?

Two: another uninspired menu picture. I thought 4K discs were premium products, but they seem to choose the crappiest image for the menu (see Shooter, The Running Man).
