Waxwork Records is thrilled to announce the film score debut of Léon: The Professional on deluxe vinyl. The 1994 action-crime-thriller film directed by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element,Lucy) stars Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, and features the motion picture debut of Natalie Portman. In the film, Léon (Reno), a professional hitman, reluctantly takes in 12-year-old Mathilda (Portman), after her family is murdered by corrupt Drug Enforcement Administration agent, Norman Stansfield (Oldman). Léon and Mathilda form an unusual relationship, as she becomes his protégée and learns the hitman's trade.

Waxwork Records’ new double-LP release marks the very first time the film score by composer Éric Serra has been released on vinyl. Combining both electronic and orchestral cues, Serra creates a score that is tense, yet beautiful, which compliments the film’s action sequences and the childhood innocence of Mathilda.

In keeping with Waxwork Records’ tireless efforts to create the highest quality soundtrack and film score releases on vinyl, the audio for Léon: The Professional was sourced from the original master tapes and then re-mastered for vinyl by producer and former White Zombie guitarist, J. Yuenger. The packaging includes 180 gram colored vinyl, heavyweight old-style tip on jackets with soft-touch coating, and new artwork by Oliver Barrett.

Léon: The Professional is available in two variants:

  • 2 x LP 180 Gram “Gunmetal” with Black Splatter Vinyl

  • Complete Score On Vinyl For The First Time Ever

  • Heavyweight Old-Style Tip-On Gatefold Jacket with Soft Touch Coating

Just see an email for this and the art and vinyl look amazing but I'm so skint from this month I won't be able to order on Friday but if zavvi get this in a few weeks or its avaliable in a few weeks from waxwork then hopefully I'll jump on it

I was the same way, bud -- couldn't remember the soundtrack -- so I went and listened to it for a while on YouTube and HOLY CRAP is it a masterful score! Buying this is a definite no-brainer for me! :D

I actually went and gave it a listen on Spotify straight after leaving my previous comment... you know a soundtrack is great when it instantly reminds you of each scene and makes you want to rewatch the film. By the way... anyone else reminded of GoldenEye when those "gongs" play in a few of the tracks?

Didn't noticed the GoldenEye gong.
Need to listen to it again!

The Gatefold looks beautiful. And I'll exactly go for this vinyl color way since it fits the cover art so perfect!

@Flloydo re Customs Waxworks marked mine $10 when i bought 'Taxi Driver' so you should be ok really want this myself

Cheers, absolutely gutted I missed out on taxi driver tri colour so I've decided I want this. Art is amazing, cool vinyl, epic film and a fantastic score.

I would love it if they have a quick skit from the film with oldman shouting "EVERYONE" in that sentance before the music starts for that part.

How much was shipping for taxi driver mate?

I just watched the film again tonight for the first time in a while. I definitely love the score to this! That said, I watched the Director's Cut for the first time and oh boy, I definitely prefer the theatrical cut. The DC made me a little bit uncomfortable at times.
