This is really surprising, Zavvi's packaging has been really good recently.

The packaging was fine (usual rigid card mailers), this looks like a spine slash when the 'bulk' boxes get opened in the Zavvi warehouse. A Zavvi lemming goes full Rambo with a Stanley knife to open the box and hacks into all of the products inside, shrugs their shoulders and sends them out to customers anyway.

Yeah it would be bad enough on any release, but on a limited run like this it is especially ****** up.

Given how crazy people were for this set I figured it would be a good idea to have more than one order so hopefully the HMV copy is pristine. In fairness I'd probably keep the Zavvi if it was the only copy I could source, while still unacceptable it's actually light enough you probably won't notice unless you go looking for it but yours looks like a clear cut.

Your not the only one.. One of my 2 zavvi copies has a whopper of a spine slash. and this sort of thing was supposed to be a thing of the past.

Wow, it looks they had Wolverine unpacking these at Zavvi!

Just curious if they're from the same box maybe? Don't know if they pack them in number order or not, but my slashed spine was #2239/2500.

my slashed one is number 996, but there will be multiple boxes, attacked by these zavvi freddy krueger types, so no idea if they're in sequence

I've had 3 out of my last 4 steels from zavvi with spine slashes.
I actually cancelled all my pre orders in a strop from them and won't be renewing my red carpet membership . Customer support is a shocker . Luckily my LNIS is from hmv and get despatched today. [ my Italian edition is still on pre order, but all things well I will cancel]
I never understood all the grief folk gave zavvi in the past , over 10 years I found the to be really good, gone backwards big time.

The delay was that Edgar wanted the SOTD Anniversary steelbook to be the priority release & its additional on-disc bonus piece took quite a while to come through.

Glad people like the LNIS set, we were able to use new slip cover art that was vetoed at new release as Edgar felt it skewed a bit too horror.
Was good to have a point of difference as so much key art has been used before, particularly on the unofficial releases.

I'm not sure if we should blame the people opening them, or the people who packed them. Like maybe there should be a buffer piece of card to stop this.

1224, I'd just assume any order from Zavvi risks it, it's only a question of where the slip was in the packaging when opened.
