LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff of the same name, debuts this August. The series follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he joins up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams). This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.

Premieres August 16 on HBO

Loved the first episode, thought it was phenomenal. Can see it being this years Watchmen if it holds the momentum from the first episode.
Which, if they stick by the book, it should do. I read the book a couple of years back & adored it, it gets a bit...out there, but its so good. So if the show sticks to the same plot, we should be in for a good time.

I went into it knowing pretty much nothing. Really glad to have a non-binge good quality show on right now that I can get excited about week to week.

I really wanted to enjoy this. I thought I was going to love it. Man was I wrong.

the first episode was okay, the 3rd was decent too but I got so bored through episode 2 (I’m surprised I made it to episode 3 tbh) but episode 4 was the kill for me. I turned it off half way through. I was so bored.
And I’ve watched all of the sinner and you. That’s saying something.

I really thought this was going to be a bit of me but nah. Terrible
