*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

Please visit the Steelbook forum, if you have more detailed questions regarding specific titles, and their 'current' status, as this list is 'dynamic' and changes over time. *

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

:scat:Keep sharing your thoughts & together we can help the list evolve!:)

Possible criteria as to what makes a steelbook rare/hard to find:

* General interest in movie
* Availability at retailer & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items
* Print Errors
* Hype
* Price on 3rd party marketplaces

What about Terminator 2 (V2 - JP)

Star Wars Clone Wars - (NL)
(I)ndependence Day - (CHINA, Ironpack)
Back to the Future Trilogy - TIN (UK)

Terminator 2 v2 from japan needs to be in the top 5
hellboy 2 media market i think is harder to get than hellboy 2 fnac
pulp fiction france
death race media market
district 9 hmv exclusive really hard to find
the dark knight fnac exclusive ive seen that sell for £80.00 so i think that should go in the list.

Nice to see replies already. Will try to keep the list updated daily, and moderators... feel free to edit and update it too.
I suggest that if the amount of steels exceeds 25, that we go for a top 25/50 list, but decide on which belong in the top 25 section and which dont.
One factor regarding rarity that I havent made my mind up yet about is for instance Predators UK version. This is also released in other countries with a sticker added for country information, but it is really the UK steelbook. Should it still be counted as rare? It does fit under one criteria; resale value, as it can be a bit expensive.
Feedback?

Swap these ?

9: Star Trek (UK)
11: Predators

Well the list isnt necessarily in a correct order, though the top 5 should be more or less correct. Will ad Terminator 2 (V2, JP) to the top list, placing it at #7 until otherwise decided.

Wolverine FNAC I would believe is more rare than Hellboy 2 FNAC ... Hellboy 2 FNAC got restocked at least on one occasion where Wolvy didnt. Also Gladiator Taiwan got a min. print run. Gladiator Taiwan is basically identical to Gladiator Thailand but Taiwan included a cool slip cover. (just an FYI for folks) Both those Gladiators though however surpass all other releases due to what methods they used for printing. Including shiny sword, shield, etc. on matte.

Romeo+Juliet - Ironpack ?
Moulin Rouge - Ironpack ?

Romeo+Juliet - Ironpack ?
Moulin Rouge - Ironpack ?

In terms of rarity, I agree with these, but I think because of the fact that they
are ironpacks, I don't think they will appreciate in value like a rare steelbook would.

There's still a stigma attached to ironpacks however, so I think they just fight the quality issue because of their build type.
