*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

Please visit the Steelbook forum, if you have more detailed questions regarding specific titles, and their 'current' status, as this list is 'dynamic' and changes over time. *

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

:scat:Keep sharing your thoughts & together we can help the list evolve!:)

Possible criteria as to what makes a steelbook rare/hard to find:

* General interest in movie
* Availability at retailer & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items
* Print Errors
* Hype
* Price on 3rd party marketplaces

Oh man, that Romeo and Juliet steelbook looks so bloody fantastic. I am huge fan of Baz Luhrman, so I own all his movies on DVD (only starting with Blu-rays, I know, too late) but if I could choose only one very valuable steelbook, Romeo and Juliet is the one.

20.000 copies ? sources ?

Was mentioned on http://www.bluray-disc.de/forum/der-club-der-steeljunkies by a MM sales Rep. The actual edition was 22.000 allegedly!!

I just wanted to point out to the user who claimed it was "hard to find" (and who himself actually has one to sell!!!) that it is sold out, BUT NOT HARD TO FIND!! Considering it cost 29€ when it came out and was later available for 36€ in the MM Onlineshop, the ebay prices of 42-50€ are still very reasonable.

Can I prove there are 22k copies around? No I can't. Does it sound realistic? I don't know. Is it hard to find? No, not at all!

What about; V For Vendetta (Canadian release). Yes there are a few of them
for sale on Ebay, but I don't see them often on forums.
Last week I got one of these copies, new in seal. Region Free, and with Dutch Subs.

Maybe another one ... The Dutch version of: Terminator 2 Skynet Edition (mediamarkt Exclusive). I was searching for one of these trying to complete the Terminator Steel series with Dutch subs. I came across 2 on a Dutch markedplace, but didn't see one on Ebay. It's also the only Steelbook T2 version with Dutch subs.

Thanks ash, good work! But where is Scarface KR? LOL! Just kidding...

I wont even mentioned "mythical beasts" like Thor NZ & AUS or Terminator TW or some other OOP Disneys, but, IMHO, a number of FNAC and Korean steels are way more difficult to find than, for example, 2012 TW or even TDK JP. For example :

FNAC
Clash of the Titans
Gran Torino
Shutter Island
Sucker Punch

Korean
Alien Anthology
Safe House
Fight Club
Ted
Scarface
Super 8
even Sherlock Holmes and Gran Torino is very tricky to find nowadays

Please consider, mods.
