The Suicide Squad

3/5

Probbaly more entertianing than I thought. They worked hard on making it entertaining, but still a weak story, but probably my taste. Margo was the best thing in it for me.

Cancelled my HMV steelbook for it. :naughty:

All three was very good, a little predictable at times but all these type of action movies are

Wonder Woman 1984.

I watched this for the first time today.
I re-watched the first one a couple of days ago (only the second time I have seen that one) and I enjoyed it much more this time around but once again I liked the first 2/3 of the movie more than I did the final battle and climax which is often the case for me with these types of movies.

I checked out the Blu-ray from my local library. It's the first time I've been to the library since the pandemic started. So my viewing was free of charge and I viewed it in the comfort of my own home.

Thank you all for lowering my expectations for this movie. I don't know if that was necessary for me to like it but I really enjoyed it.

I understand that superhero movies are generally supposed to be about the superhero in action doing battle with the bad guys but honestly I have always enjoyed the interactions between the characters and story in these movies when they're not dressed up as the superhero. Even going back to when I was a kid watching the Superman movies (1 & 2) I enjoyed all of the Clark Kent stuff. Anyway I could go on about that kind of stuff in other movies but that's enough of that.

So going by the rating system in the OP and seeing that 3 actually means good then for me this movie is at least a

3.75 perhaps even a 4.0

5 stars

This is the 4k pressing. Simply astonishing. Brilliant film as always.
I was not expecting the 4k to be this good. It isn't just a step up from
the blu-ray, it's a quantum leap. One of the rare times the 4k blows away
the blu-ray. This Arrow restoration is amazing... The 4k should diminish
the film especially the practical effects but it does the opposite. One of the
few flawless films in cinema history. Everything from the cast, the music, the effects
Burt Lancaster's son's script, Carpenter's direction, the location work.
There is so much to enjoy and be amazed by in this film.........
Time has not diminished its power.....
