I think it was mentioned the universal films will most likely be matte and the WB spot gloss but I suppose you have to wait for them to release to find out

Too bad I panicked when I saw a lot of members were cancelled and I pre ordered mine from orbit; pre orders can’t be cancelled….oh well, at least I don’t have the 4k discs yet on any of those lol

This streaky af and he's describing it as a nice clean finish. It's clearly streaky. I don't get it. Does he have special finish eyesight I'm missing or something?

It’s much better in hand - the camera is just picking up and exaggerating all of the flaws. There’s a smooth finish on it that makes it nice in hand. Definitely better than lots of the recent steelbook releases in terms of how it feels.

Pictures/ video haven’t exaggerated anything. My pics are how it looks in hand too. Can’t speak for the video but I haven’t tampered with my images either. The image is fine on the steel. It’s nice art, but the finish is boring. Especially with how 2001 turned out. So In all, compared to 2001, it’s simply turned out poor

dang, you're so right, disappointed in this and 2001. tried to cancel my own pre-order, but kept coming up error, so i said F/it, i'll take the hit on this one.

This morning, received steelbook Scarface .... but I did not read all posts before ..... and very disappointed with matte finish ! why such cheap finish

all the blood would have been very cool in spot gloss.

And I'm afraid all UK steels will get the same finish !

But my question .... is anyone knows if the finish would be different in US or in a European Country ?

There's no US release, and I'm sure all European are the same.

There is no US release. All other editions, EU and ROW are a shared print run. Finishes will be the same everywhere. Not all releases have a matte finish, 2001 has already been released and that's spot gloss.

I just got my copy; great artwork but a poor finish on the steelbook, why no one has done a premium on this is just crazy, and yeah they would have done spot gloss on the blood at least.

There were plenty of studio boxsets, between the black 'leather' DVD box with 8 lobby cards, this BD box:

... and Vault's own box, as well as at least 4 steelbooks, here's 3 of them:

...I think we had enough.

Yes, I know you meant that, but they'd just recycle existing materials at this point. Like Blufans Casablanca box - all the printed materials in it were from 3 previous studio box sets, and of worse quality and smaller size, by default (because it's China).
