Finally received mine and agree it's a very strong contender for SOTY25 :notworthy:

Completely forgot I paid for the "gift" option, meaning it was packed with an extra layer of protection and also came in a larger box. My copy looked fine when sealed, as there's no damage to the slip whatsoever. However, upon opening it and removing said slip, there's a number of dents around the edges, one of which has caused a slight bend to the steelbook, so it doesn't quite close properly. Obviously this means it was caused before it was even placed in the slip and sealed at the factory. Clearly no point in paying for extra packaging when the item is already damaged before it's left Scanavo. So bloody frustrating!

Amazon x100

Such a freaking lottery importing nowadays.
Sadly, I made that decision based on @Flloydo results not @Noodles.

Wonder what mine will look like when it's arrives?
Lolzzzzzz

Whilst I'd love to blame Bezos, it's not even Amazon's fault this time around... steelbook was damaged before being placed in the slip and sealed. Scanavo's QC clearly lacking with this release... first @laz305's copy with the weird printed spine, and now mine with damage under the slip. Hope you have better luck!

Without diminishing your bad experience (I had MANY with Amazon, all European and US, too, so I know how this feels), but did you taken into account that all those could happened actually while on the way to seller and then to you?
I had SEVERAL that exactly as you said, seemed just fine on the outside, but then, the steel was indeed having dents and bents. The most hideous one were those in the back, especially when there was a fairly thick cardboard for the J-card. And those J-cards also SEEMED not damaged, but, on a MUCH CLOSER inspection, I could see some VERY TINY bents in those J-cards... in ALL OF THEM, no exception. Keep in mind carton, paper and plastic are very easy to recover from whatever hits and kicks they get, but all at the same time, they „transfer” those to the underneath layer, the SteelBook itself.

My last batch of SteelBooks, ordered from Amazon Germany in September 2024, arrived ALL dented more or less (one of them was Red Sonja, which come with a poster folded on the back, and still had dents), and they sent replacement (after asking for pictures) stating I do not have to return the damaged ones, and guess what, those were even worst (there were no more amarays as the first time, to take part of the punches), and them, they send once more replacement (third time), again saying I do not have send back the damaged ones, and, sure enough, those were dented as well, so I decided just to keep the less battered ones of all.
Then, what do you know, one day I receive a message: you passed your return period, you'll be charged!
I've contacted them once again (BTW, they were ALL Indians, by their names), and that new "customer service representative", wanted to assure me "I will not get any new notification about payment for no returns" to which I stated, NO you need to so something to not get CHARGED anymore, not just not get notified of it. But he continued with the notified. Sure enough, I still got charged, even after I removed my card from the account. So now, I believe I have paid 94,62 Euros TWICE for dented and more dented SteelBooks. I think I should say "glad was not charged the third time".
Oh, and BTW, all my further contacts with them, via chat or e-mail, were having ONLY the reply: in maximum 48 hours a representative will contact you.... bla-bla-bla... They never contacted me back.
I am seriously thinking suing them to European court (yes, for just 94,62 Euro, with this amount you can eat very good for whole week or even more).

I've experienced that before too (slight marks on the slip/j-card, which reveals bigger damage underneath), but there's literally not even the slightest mark on the PET slip in this case. Not to mention the dents are on the edges of the steelbook, which are typically the strongest/hardest part to damage (same for the slip), so if it had happened during transit, then I would fully expect damage to the slip as well. Probably going to get in touch with Amazon anyway, because the more I think about it, the more it pmo lol

You are right, it looks like something happened to the SteelBook before getting the PET slip.
Hope you'll get a replacement from Amazon.
(BTW, don' know what „pmo” means, to fully appreciate your whole answer, sorry)

Yeah it’s horror stories like this is why I’ll never understand where they can possibly get the idea of charging more than $20 for these when they literally treat them like they are $5 SteelBooks. I can not even remember the last SteelBook I received in mint condition. There is always an imperfection somewhere.
