That is an interesting design. It looks like he is holding a Lightsaber, but never heard of this film before.
It's pretty good. Of Bessons early stuff, I prefer Subway over Nikita and Big Blue to be honest.
I suppose it could be seen as avant garde maybe, even for a stylised french movie from the eighties.
Certainly feels like the antithesis of that 80s Hollywood style, well to me it did anyway.
Definitely worth a watch if you've never seen it. I remember it being pretty popular in it's day. If I'm right, this is where we got Christopher Lambert from. His first big success I believe.
I would say don't blind buy though. Watch it first.

How come, I don't believe you're one of the 'newly born', but a man like us, 'from the previous century' :D
I found out about this movie after The Fifth Element, and imported a DVD of it at the time.

I only now realize that's not Thomas Jane, it's Christoper Lambert.....they look so much alike

Ehh, a little, with these particular photos, but not really. Lambert has that special 'from underneath the eyebrows' gaze, that's also influenced by his myopia, and inability to use contact lenses. So in most movies, when he's without glasses, he can barely see, acting half blind.
