A rumbling sound then three sharp knocks… ba-BA-ba DOOK! DOOK! DOOK!
Ten years ago, writer/director Jennifer Kent blew us away with her feature debut: THE BABADOOK. The film follows a recently widowed mother and her son as their lives are interrupted by an increasingly sinister entity out of a children’s book known as The Babadook. Not just a brilliant and truly terrifying horror film, it is also a stunning exploration and meditation on grief, loss, anxiety, depression and other psychological horrors that ultimately make us human.
We are proud to partner with our friends at IFC Films to celebrate the 10th anniversary theatrical re-release with a poster featuring brand new artwork from the always excellent Sara Deck. Sara doesn’t miss.
These go up for sale today (Thursday, 9/19) at 12pm CT at madebymutant.com.
THE BABADOOK by Sara Deck
24” x 36” Screenprint, Edition of 135, $65
