The Green Knight - In theaters July 30, 2021

Got to be honest... Haven't been so disappointed with a movie in so long. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the trailer doesn't really hint at it being an arthouse fantasy (yes, I know it's A24, but still). There's pretty much zero action/combat in the whole movie.

I found it extremely pretentious and mostly boring.... annndddd such a slooooowww buuurrrn. The main plot is pretty decent, but some of the characters' choices were a bit strange. Some events in the movie had me mainly thinking, "why did that just happen" which frustrated me a bit.

Having said all the negatives things, the atmosphere and tone of the fantasy world, sound design, along with Dev Patel were all awesome and the fact that I've nearly been thinking of this film constantly for the last 24 hours, must be a good thing. Maybe I'll appreciate on a rewatch in like 20 years time, but I definitely won't be going back to this any time soon.
