Do you have to have seen the entire Sopranos series, to appreciate all the nuances? I haven't watched past season 4, would that be enough, you think?

It's a completely different experience for a Non-Soprano watcher/fan. If you've seen the show, it seems a bit like fan service and filling in gaps with specific moments and almost being nostalgia-p0rn, but if you haven't seen the show, it is a good but ultimately run-of-the-mill TV gangster movie with A list actors and higher budget. Definitely worth watching, but not a must-buy!
