The comic-book sequels kind of took the luster off the original "Rocky" for me...how about "Miracle"?

Kurt Russell absolutely nailed Herb Brooks. I'm old enough to remember the 80 Olympics, but my kids couldn't understand our relationship with the Soviet Union at the time & how truly incredible the upset was.
