Oh I agree, many of the American retailers are so far up their own flue it is unbelievable; and some of the German retailers break all the rules in the book and refuse to sell into the UK, which is against every EU law in the book !! Free movement of peoples and goods is the central pillar of EU law, especially trading - But still they get away with it !!! Grrr

Customs is another matter. Amazon US have a good scheme that bypasses customs (on some goods) but if we do ever leave the EU (pretty doubtful in real terms) then the cost of our FACs' will rocket - not to mention all the other goodies we personally import on the cheap from within the EU. I'm a Volvo man, and factory parts from Sweden, accessories from specialists in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium and Holland all come in cheap because we're in the EU.
True of everything else many of us bring in personally.

edited for typos
You can no longer bypass VAT with Amazon USA for shipping to EU countries if value of goods including shipping is over £15.00 UK and €22.00 EU
They now only use as cheapest shipping option Amazon Global Shipping
When you place an order it will automatically apply Import Fees Deposit on your order if value is over the threshold it's not possible to avoid it
Even if you have with amazon usa an outstanding previous older pre order and you picked previous standard shipping that avoided VAT when amazon usa are actually shipping your order its auto changed to Amazon Global Shipping and Import Fess Deposit it taken

I don't remember amazon.com having charged extra for shipping for ordering more than one steelbook. They charge 2.33 EUR extra for shipping for every steelbook added to basket.

It's not that it dont matter if your ordering only 1 item or multi items
If your based in a EU country customers used to be able previously to avoid Vat on orders with Amazon USA by using standard shipping and take a risk not been hit by customs for Vat and most times you did not get hit by customs except if value was high

This now has changed Amazon USA now are only using Amazon Global Shipping as the cheapest standard option and if the value of goods is over the Vat import threshold a Import Fess Deposit is automatically applied you cant remove it or avoid it even with an older pre order where you picked the older standard shipping option that avoided VAT it's automatically changed to Amazon Global shipping when been shipped and import fess deposit is applied
Amazon USA where forced to do this change by customs from EU countries

Holy crap. That's going to be bad for business, I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing that info, Paul!

Yes, so far, but expecting a steelbook for each of the 8 titles found in the "Universal Monsters Collection" coffin (original and re-issue) and in the regular boxset (see below) to follow - in other words, FRANKENSTEIN, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, THE WOLFMAN, THE INVISIBLE MAN, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1943) and *CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON

* CREATURE, as we know, has already had a steelbook release in October 2014 . . . but I personally wouldn't mind a re-release with the original poster artwork on the back to match the two already announced (DRACULA and THE MUMMY) and the others in the set hopefully in the pipeline.

Regarding "The Monsters Collection" and individual steelbooks I'm thinking they should all have the original poster art on the backs and on the discs to make a super handsome matching style mini collection of eight.

Original poster artwork on the front can look super great - as seen on the WB Classic film wave of 10 titles in January 2013 (CASABLANCA, NORTH BY NORTHWEST, THE MALTESE FALCON and the rest) - but I personally don't mind in the slightest the way they've done it here

As for steelbook releases for the other "non-Classic" horror titles mentioned in your post, I think it highly unlikely :)

Cool original 1932 poster:-

that's one of my favourite steels; simple, beautiful and elegant.

yes, they should all have something like that, but when was the last time the studios gave us what we thought they should?

If the 10% or 15% discount code works on this, will that be passed on to the GB participants?

Or Zoom doesn't allow voucher on Group orders?

If the code works on the group order then of course it will, but as this is an agreement between Zoom and HDN the ordering process may be slightly different so the there may be no way of adding the discount voucher.
