Gonna have to wait til it is released to hear the reviews.
Need to know if it has forced French subs (Seven7's release of Everything All At Once had forced subs).
There are rumblings about a German edition....
It's rare to see a 4k release have forced subs....... Blu-ray and DVD yes as they are usually region locked.

That's a gorgeous looking release! Waiting on a UK release of this film in some form or other as its a movie I love to bits and not seen in a long time

Unfortunately- conflicting reports on the forced French subs.
One user testified that there is no way to turn of the French subs from the menu, but you can turn them off once you are watching the film by using the subtitle button on your remote.
Another user mentioned that user #1 had a modded region-free player- and this why he was able to do this. (although it makes no sense that a region-free player would do such a thing).
I have a copy on the way, and will report my results. (I have an Oppo with a region-free mod that can be turned on or off)

I'm surprised they are still in business as the amount of French people who buy physical media that hate these subtitles is unreal.
Most French people are not bilingual and forced subtitles are important. In addition, it is a product intended for the French market so it is "logical" that it goes in this direction and that it is not English friendly, even if this decision is stupid.
Here's an unboxing (not mine)... the stupidity and greed of Seven7 is total. Many decided to return it.

I thought Hard Coded subs would die out with VHS.
No excuse. Don't care the argument. There's literally no need. The multiple language subs are already on there. 2 seconds to go onto the menu and switch on or off.
It limits the international sales interest. How's that good business?
