Looks ok but it’s very minimal. Is what it is I suppose. More spot gloss on the back but I can’t stand that art so I don’t care for that side. Waited long enough now I just fukin want it. The blue slip looks cool tho

That’s not a pearlescent slip. If anything it looks like the spot gloss has some UV paint or something. Finish is cool on that side but I don’t like the image. I was only interested in the front art

They don't. all major GBs have received there S&S except HDN, Sam advised he wanted to ship altogether.

Urgh I’m so bugged out about that purple slip. It’s just so minimal. I feel like those weird black eye things should be glossy and the whole skull too.

And the shimmer on the other slip should have a UV finish behind Portman. The shimmer colouring don’t look flat and muted which is a good thing but could’ve popped with UV gloss surely

It isn't, no. It's a soft touch base with high build spot UV and what the manufacturers call a "sense" finish to the bottom of XLA and the bushes at the top of XLB.

The original plan was to make both slips holo, with a mix of spot white, matte and high build UV, but it didn't work well. I've got the test samples on my desk and they aren't particularly good quality tbh. Colours are so washed out, desaturated and images are lacking fine detail. The revised finish is far better.

That was my worry as well tbh, particularly with the purple slip. It needed vibrancy that I didn't expect soft touch to be able to achieve, but I was pleasantly surprised after seeing the revised test prints. Nice and vibrant.

I wanted a holo shimmer in the background of the clearing for XLB, but it just doesn't seem to be possible without ruining the rest of the slip in the UK, unfortunately. Seems that's only something the Chinese/Koreans can manage.

Yeah, that's what I though r.e the details on the purple. You notice bits you've never seen before. Far better than the full holo sample. Dan was trying not to go OTT with the spot UV on that one. Tried a few iterations, and too much distracted away from the image detail, with the way it caught the light, so he settled on what we have here. It works well enough imo.

Happy to get my hands on this one too. It's been a slow title release year everywhere and I've been buying less and less as my collection gets bigger and more complete, super happy to get my hands on this for a closer look. Love the colours. I'm happy with the choice of XL still.
