Looks like it can be good.I guess this new version will be more in tune with the Avengers assemble.I can't get into Assemble for some reason.

The Guardians made an appearance in Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes and they were more comic book based.That was a good episode.Wish we were getting that version

Disney and Marvel have announced at NYCC that they are working on GUARDIANS IF THE GALAXY animated series For Disney XD. Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, says it’s based on the characters from the record breaking film and the looks of the Marvel NOW Universe. It’ll have the whole crew: Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax the Destroyer, and Gamora.

Here’s what Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President of Programming & General Manager, has to say:
“The movie and franchise quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. We’re looking forward to working with the great team at Marvel Television to deliver an engaging animated series that fans can enjoy each week.”

“This is a very exciting time for the Marvel Animation Studio as we get to explore the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe by developing the first-ever ‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy’ animated series,” said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television. “After starring in the biggest movie of 2014, everyone wants more of Star-Lord and his crew – now they’ll get it.”

During NYCC 2014, I posted an article that Disney XD is getting a new animated series of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY here and the voice cast has been revealed.

The series stars Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot, Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, and David Sobolov as Drax the Destroyer who were all on The Disney XD series AVENGERS ASSEMBLE as well as ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN as their same characters. New to the role is Will Friedle will be voicing Peter Quill AKA Star-Lord who has voiced Deadpool on Disney XD’s ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN and Terry McGinnis on BATMAN: BEYOND. As of the time of this posting, the voice of Gamora has not been revealed but we will update the post as soon as the information is available.

The new animated series Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy debuts Saturday, September 26th on Disney XD and IGN has the exclusive debut of the key art for the series:

While the official debut of Guardians is September 26th, viewers will have a chance to first see the show on September 5th, as part of a big rollout Disney XD are giving the series. Check out the complete plan below.

• One-hour premiere of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy featuring back-to-back episodes on Disney XD (9:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m., ET/PT).
o Encore presentation of "Road to Knowhere" followed by "Knowhere to Run." In "Knowhere to Run," the Guardians struggle to subdue the suddenly-sprung-to-life Celestial head that is the Knowhere space colony, as well as storm Korath's ship to rescue Quill, Gamora and the mysterious CryptoCube that holds the Cosmic Seed.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
• Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy available to WATCH Disney XD users on WATCHDisneyXD.com and the WATCH Disney XD app for smartphones, tablets and connected TVs.

I do not remember that. I was starting to party at that time in my life. I grew up watching MOTU and Thundercats mostly, and of course the Smurfs....
