Hello guys,

Im new to figures and all this. Im not going to collect them, but I would like a few to add to my collection. You know a few for the shelf to make it look better, and to hold the movies up (so they won't fall).

Anyways, my question is what can I get? Please help me out! I've been looking everywhere but haven't found anything that strikes a interest.

Of course, I could care less if the figure is limited edition or exclusive. However, their are a few things I do care about.

- looks good (not just a bad figure that looks cheap)
- about 6-20 inches
- No more than 30 US Dollars

If you guys and girls have time, could you list some picture of figures with links to where I can buy them that fits my requirements? Im sorry for making you do all this work, but im in need of help.

Also, I would prefer figures from Nightmare on Elm Street, Book of Eli, Casino Royal, Rambo, Inglorious Bastards, etc, etc. (something along those lines)

Thanks.:oohyeah:

Yeah sideshow is expensive. But they do offer flex pay which breaks up the cost into several payments I have used it before. But as far as quality and wow factor you won't get much better than sideshow. I have a lot of mcfarlane stuff which is also pretty good but more on the figure side. Lot of the larger spawn figures and the femme fatales and twisted fairy tales stuff.

Have you checked out Ebay. I went on last night and they had quite a few pieces of American Mcgee's Alice. I have quite a few of the pieces and they are excellent. Look up under American Mcgee Alice

You're not going to be able to find really collectables for that cheap. You can get toys from Toys R Us for that price...

As for real collectables go sideshow is the best, or if you want vintage you can check out different collectors, ebay, etc.

Do you have a specific thing you're looking for? Are you trying to build around a certain movie? Or are you just looking for random things?

Are you looking for plastic, resin, busts, full statues, etc?

I'm assuming you'll want resin since it's to hold movies up...

Thanks guys for replying.

I find a few things that I will buy sometime in the future. I saw two Scarface action figures, which has a 7 inch size, and 18 inch. (the 7 inch is 15 dollars, and the 18 inch is 40)

So, thats the stuff im looking for.

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks.

I've been collecting various items for years. Mainly lower priced items like yourself. I'd agree that Sideshow (and through them Hot Toys) have some great pieces. But not really in your price range (still might be worth saving up for one at some point).

I have a slew of Star Wars figures that I've accumulated fo the years. Have one set-up for each of the original trilogy. These figures are cheap, although what you can find these days I do not know (I was building this during the original trilogy re-releases). I also picked thinks up for Austin Powers, LOTR, and X-Men when those movies came out. But again, might be limited to what movies are recent.

These days, I'd say McFarlane does pretty good stuff for cheap. I'm not up to date on all their lines, but you can usually find something cool. And eBay might be a good source for older toys. Shouldn't be too expensive, particularly if they are out of the package.

I think I can help, give me the weekend to look into it. I might have a McFarlane Freddy. I know I have a sweet Alien Vs. Predator Box set by McFarlane...most of the stuff I have is by him...it's the best fig-wise.

My advice is look at the mcfarlane movie maniacs line some of which you can still find at retailers.
Second is the Universal Monsters Select by diamond select there is some that coast more that your get from most comic book stores and a cheaper line that sells from toysrus.
