Apparently James Wan and a bunch of people walked out, it was mediocre and essentially a boring rip of Evil Dead Rises. It was more boring than the Tom Cruise Mummy film and some other bits and pieces. But test screenings can be very weird and also it can all be b0llocks too. It’s most likely lies to protect the name of the Fraiser films. Apparently the title was supposed to change too (to The Resurrected to help differentiate from the Universal franchise and reboot) and literally a day after all this came out Newline & Blumhouse dropped the teaser today so either it’s a load of rubbish or they are pretty worried about the word of mouth and had to show this.

Also Universal just greenlit and fast tracked the Mummy 4 with Brendan Fraser which is essentially The Mummy 3 because it’s going to forget the 3rd film existed lol and it looks that it’s getting more buzz and it may be that Mummy fans just want Brendan Fraiser family fun action mummy movies and not full on horror which the Cruise film failed at.

Tbh I’m up for this. It goes back to the Mummy story roots as in it was never an action film and instead is just a horror film. Apparently the tone is a mix Se7en and poltergeist. So I wana see it anyway but if it’s as bad as being reported I also want to see that too lol. Already comments all over social media are pretty much “no thanks I’ll wait for The Mummy 4 with Brendan Fraiser” so I don’t think this will do too well especially after the cruise film completely tarnished The Mummy name. Which is why it also makes sense to change the name of this instead of putting the directors name on the title that no one really knows. as much as I love Evil Dead rises I would never of known his name and I bet a lot are the same and now with all this backlash and negativity it could ruin him if it’s all true. If it’s good then he’s made a name for himself. Either way he’s made a name for himself lol

decent trailer. It does look good. Just so different to what I was expecting

I really don't know what to make of this film and the trailer doesn't help.....
