Painting/repairing chipped/scratched steels?

(Apologies mods if this is in the wrong area or has been discussed before)

I recently dropped my batman begins jp () and its now suffering from a paint chip. I started to think that it would be worth painting this myself to restore it to its original beauty and realised I'd never come across a discussion about this on the site. Has anyone ever touched up happy grin one of their chipped/scratched steels and did it do the job or did you instantly regret it...?

Yep, I have a huge collection of different colored fine tip Sharpies.

I haven't tried but I guess a magic marker will hide anyway most little chips and scratches!
