I got this, its region free ...
Though it does try to do some bd-live connecting or something to I guess a German online thing and screen just went black. If you press :x: while its doing it; it will cancel and then u can play but u gotta press :triangle: and then bring up menu to then switch to audio english. (picture quality is GREAT)
If you dont press :x: then you can go with the :triangle: route later.

Love this director and the Media Book(have it for a while, still need to see flick!). Grogeous visuals from the clips I've seen...
