The main attraction for me is simply getting the steel at a sane price.
Watched it tonight, really liked it. Preferred last year's movie but still enjoyed this one... And yeah, the ending got me real pumped for the next installment.
I thought it was a weird plot for this series. Not bad as such, just odd. The ending was a decent payoff for me thankfully.
I wouldn't, that's all he writes, basically, and as we know from the extras on 28 Days Later, the original concept was pretty horrible, and the movie was saved from his 'writing', and was basically a fluke it turned out well...

The Beach. Sunshine. Dredd. Ex Machina. Annihilation. Devs (Series). Civil War. Warfare.
All great imo. I'd list 28DL as well, but you've just defunct that one lol the only ones I haven't really liked are this and Men. I even thought 28YL was decent enough compared to those.
I know, right? A bizzare statement. Sunshine, Ex Machina and Annihilation are some of the best sci-fi thrillers of the last 20 years imo. Civil War and Warfare are also great contemporary war films. His novel for the beach is also excellent.Garland is not a poor writer. Far from it
I do like where the 28 anthology series is taking each episode. Not sure I'm prepared to wait another 28 odd years to getting around to completing this story.

It definitely felt like a 1.5 rather than a full sequel... Like they had the story plotted out but then realised it was too big, so chopped it into the 2 movies.
I still enjoyed both of the new installments though

I feel like 28YL and the upcoming sequel were the proper entries (kinda telling, as boyle directs both), and bone temple was more like a 1.5 spin off to cash in a bit until the 3rd was made (also kinda telling given the tiny 7 month release gap).It definitely felt like a 1.5 rather than a full sequel... The final sequence from bone temple could have quite literally been a post credit from 28YL with no real need for a gap to be filled to keep continuity. There’s likely nothing in bone temple that'll be particularly relevant to the final entry, other than how

Samson? His story could become fairly pivotal, should they wish to follow it up...

So we've had 'outbreak', 'history-repeats' *, 'coming-of-age', 'evil', and now waiting for 'redemption'. Isn't there enough components laid out from the latest entry to lead into whatever the final part will be called and ultimately achieve?
True, and while it would make logical sense to follow-up on such a pivotal advancement in the status of the infection, but in true sequel spin-off fashion it wouldn't surprise me at all if it wasn't mentioned. I'd expect the final part to mainly focus on
Spike and girl Jimmy meeting Jim, and obviously wtf he's been up to for the last 28 years lol

God this film was a mess. Was proper looking forward to it after 28 years which was amazing all around. This was just so jarring.
How can 2 films from a series made back to back feel like 2 completely different universes and franchises? Boyle with 28 years made this incredibly visual and beautiful film with interesting shots and cinematography, camera work and trippy ethereal images and this just has zero of that. Even technically, How was it not even filmed the same way? So strange. Even with Samson on morphine looking up at the moon, where’s the cool visuals?
I enjoyed some moments and Jack O’Connell as usual was great even though he just didn’t make sense or go full throttle to what that character is supposed to be but even the lad who plays Spike who held his own against Aaron Taylor Johnson, Jodie comer and Fiennes was completely in the background of this. And where the f**k was Aaron Taylor Johnson? He’s so f**king good in the last one.
Seeing Cillian was awesome but now I’m going to be p!ssed if the third isn’t made even though this was pretty sh!t. Well, I liked it to a degree but it felt so weird and out of place and even pointless at times. When that original music kicked in at the end though that made my hairs stand up
One thing that stuck out for me was the soundtrack. Wasn’t expecting that and was pretty cool. It’s about the 6th film I’ve heard Radiohead - Everything in its right place in! (worked better in Vanilla Sky and The Creator though).
Yeah just disappointed because of how much I loved 28 Years later. There no way this is the better film lol.

Don't know why Danny Boyle didn't just commit to all three films.
