I think I know about 10 of those songs. pretty entertaining tho. I'm not 100% on this but I'm not sure that these "same 4 chords" are the root notes for all these songs. just that that chords work over them. I could be wrong tho.

apparently if you want to record a smash hit just take the cords from a different song that was a smash hit and change it around enough so they don't sue you.

im sure this happens ALL the time. I bet you could find 30+ songs that use another cord progression.
