The zero-g alien blood scene is brilliant, and one of the things any Alien film needs to do is create at least one new terrifying setup, so that's a big yes. And I loved the overall feel of a new film that uses a lot of the effects techniques of the original. But it still felt like the Force Awakens of the Alien series to me. ‍Sequels may likely improve this strand of the franchise, but it's looking like the next one will take longer to arrive than The Batman 2.

For fans of the movie this release is a real bonus. Every time I see the steelbook I wish I liked the movie so I'd pick up a copy.
Sod's law, great steelbook for a movie I don't like whilst movies I DO like get poor steelbooks... Or no steelbook at all...
