Yes! Without the border and less airbrushing, and get rid of the exploding car, and this is perfect.

Err no just no. Looks like a bad z list 80's movie poster or something Arrow would use. Doesn't suit this film at all. I hope this doesn't win.

What are you talking about? The film takes place in the '80s, looks like it was shot in the '80s, features '80s music, costumes, etc...couldn't be more appropriate.

I could not agree more. I am buying a movie made in the 90's and I want it to look like it. That artwork is just plain dreadful. It looks like a B Movie cover that I never would have looked at on the video store shelf. Lets just have Artwork from the original film.

I'd have to disagree. While set in the 80's it has a distinctly 90's cold feel to it and definitely doesn't fit in with that 80's style of horror poster. It's set in the high finance and rich world of trust fund boys and millionaires, it would be far more suited to something along the lines of 80's high art or style such as that used on mid to late 80's albums for bands like Duran Duran or Depeche Mode. This makes it look like a cheap video nasty.

I genuinely thought it was shot in the 80's when I first saw the film.

I'm a bit worried about this steelbook though... these competitions never work out great, and the fact people weren't told to also design back art to match is concerning!

It was shot in the 90's but its set in the 80's.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Perfect.
The abstract ones just don't work for me, it's a film set in the eighties, so this eighties one sheet style with the electro font is just spot on for me. LOVE it.
This for the win!

It's just this was announced in NOVEMBER last year and still no sign the contest is a stalling tactic.

The back to the future was announced and days later live.

It's just this was announced in NOVEMBER last year and still no sign the contest is a stalling tactic.

The back to the future was announced and days later live.

When that announcement was made the UK distribution rights to "American Psycho" were still held by EiV. All the EiV Steelbook releases were subject to substantial delays. By the time they began to appear, the rights to this title had already reverted to Lionsgate, which is why the EiV Steelbook release was cancelled.

The relevant date is not the date of the announcement of the EiV release but the date the distribution rights reverted to Lionsgate. Given that Lionsgate's standard Blu-ray was released as recently as the 6th July, just under 3 weeks ago, it doesn't seem to me to be a case of them stalling.

The "Back to the Future" releases are not really relevant given that they are, and always have been, Universal titles. Furthermore, although exclusive to Zavvi in the UK, they will undoubtedly also be released in other countries with identical artwork, so Zavvi would have been offered an already completed product. "American Psycho", on the other hand, is a genuine Zavvi world exclusive release, with a consequent need to design the Steelbook artwork from scratch.

I'm more than happy that Lionsgate take its time with this release, if that means a superior final product.
