Crickets Chirping. I have to say it was the same with the Aviator and the Aliens debacles, total silence from the staff. It just seems lately that this site is less about community and more about cold hard business. Even having a GB (no name mentioned) host that is treating this site as his own personal fiefdom. Although ALL the other GB hosts are the bomb and should be applauded.
What is it with you and John?
This is not the first post of yours taking a pop at him. On his Black List are you?
Instead of making veiled references, why don't you man up and name him.

Total silence from zavvi and anybody in the know. It's not good enough from all involved. It's not a hard concept to let your customers know what is happening with their orders. Lots of people spend lots of money collecting steelbooks we deserve better

So what is zavvis issues

1] They have run out of white boxes
2] There steelbook guy is on hols
3] It is just production problems/late deliveries, not there fault
4] They are on the verge of going bust and had to take out a new credit card to pay a deposit on delivery

Sh@t happens, the steels arrive when they arrive. I reckon the only guys on here that have a problem are the scalpers that are facing negative feedback for late deliveries or for having there multiple orders cancelled.

Whatever the problems are though, they better have them sorted for may, lol.

First off, I cancelled my order so this issues don't effect me personally, but this is my thoughts...

1) They shouldn't run out of white boxes - they're an online business. They should know what they need. It's unlikely to be this.
2) There is no 'steelbook guy'. Steelbooks are stock like everything else. Orders are placed. Orders arrive. Orders are posted to customers.
3) Production issues happen, things are delayed (and brought forward), just keep the customer informed.
4) Doubtful.

When this title was announced, AIUI, customers were able to order 5 copies. Zavvi should honor this, and make sure it only accepted enough orders that they could fulfill (common sense). Once all orders were sent out (taking into account customers cancelling their own orders and Zavvi cancelling orders over 5), then, and only then should any remaining stock be put up for sale (keeping a few aside for damages/losses/promotions etc).

I have nothing against price increases once the pre-order period is over (although a few quid, not doubling it or adding it to a Z-Box), this is common practice as shown by Amazon online and HMV instore. If after a few months stock is still hanging around, reduce it to get rid of it, thus making a last bit of money and freeing up space for something else. Simple. If you pay £25 on pre-order, £30 on the day or £10 3 months later, that's just how retail works. No one really has a problem with that.

It's the underhand tactics Zavvi employ to drive up demand, poor customer service, then overcharging for items once they're back in stock that is the issue. We (hopefully) all want Zavvi to make a profit so their steelbooks continue (no one else will pick up the slack if Zavvi goes under), it's just the way they go about it.

I am not defending zavvi but people moaned when this release was moved forward and now it has been delayed a week people are talking like it is the most heinous unspeakable crime ever, it's a good job really as everyone who cancelled this would not have been able to do so if it's a good job there was a small delay, yes there not great as communicating but we all know that, if that's is an issue then don't buy from them simple as that.

Off topic but at least you don't pay for items the. Have to wait 3-6 months no that pees me off, personally I love getting steelbooks earlier than expected it's like Christmas coming early.

Please keep the thread about the steelbook and not the retailer, there is a specific thread for that!!
Also were a community so I don't want to read to the nit picking going on, finished

I agree with this.

This wasn't supposed to be released until the end of May. Zavvi brought it forward, people complained. Now that people aren't getting it, they're complaining! Personally, if I get it before the original date of May, it'll be a bonus.

Seems to me that what set all this off was the guy who had one on Ebay. This seemed to put a lot of people's noses on here out of joint and then the hatred towards Zavvi began.

We'll never know how he got it. But can Ricster not explain how he got his copy?

He seems to be the only Ninja who got one but he's keeping very quiet about the whole thing.

For me, it's the fact that they have had my money for a couple of days but my order hasn't progressed past awaiting stock pick.

Take money - send items....simple commerce!

From what I can remember, it's common enough for Zavvi to take payment a day or two before despatch for most orders?

It doesn't help that we've gone into a weekend and there is no warehouse staff on duty.

I expect these will all be despatched on Monday.

I'm not holding out much hope, they've held my money for the best part of two weeks recently for a couple of other orders. They're really killing my excitement for this release and steelbook collecting in general...anyway, enough said before my posts get moved for being off topic!

You know this is going to appear in the next couple of weeks at £49.99 with the option of buying it for £29.99 with the $hit Box. Zavvi must be making a killing on these $hit boxes which cost probably a fiver to make, they then overcharge for a back catalogue title (even though it's awesome), then it comes back in stock at double the price. To be fair, there business model is pretty damn good at making profit, unfortunately it's us Collector's who get shafted. I bet the Novamedia Avengers will be cheaper than this without shipping for a far superior product. Zavvi need some competition, or this will the norm with any future collectable release unfortunately.

I think the issue was not just bringing the release date forward but then missing it completely and going quiet, prompting people to wonder whether they will have to hold money back in case it does get released. although the delay is only a slight thing, following that up by cancelling people's orders ( even single orders), without explanation, is what has got people's backs up.

I received my dispatch email on Friday. I don't agree with the price changes and how Zavvi cancel some orders without explanation. I also don't think their customer service is the best. HOWEVER, Nobody is forcing us to buy from them. Despite the fact that I don't like how they treat me as a customer sometimes, if I want the steelbook, I'll order it from them.

If you don't like Zavvi, don't order from them. Nobody is forcing you. Don't order and then complain about them endlessly when something happens to your order.

I'm looking forward to receiving mine - whatever the date might be!

My copies have been despatched. I Assume that others will experience a delay while stock is allocated and their will be despatched as well.

Do you feel like, as soon as you experience an inconvenience, that staff should drop everything they are going (TONS OF GB's) and bend over backwards to confirm what we already know: Zavvi had issues allocating stock and oversold this title.

do you feel like someone owes you an apology? Well, then your out of luck.

I know it a conspiracy. He knows a guy whose brother in law work at Zavvi so he was able to findangle a copy early.

JUST KIDDING ;)

He got it in the ZBOX Dude, mystery unraveled.
