BRUTAL WESTERN THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER #1 FROM BRIAN AZZARELLO & EDUARDO RISSO BLAZES OFF SHELVES, SELLS OUT AT DISTRIBUTOR LEVEL
DSTLRY, the next-generation publisher redefining creator-owned comic books and collectibles, proudly announces the rapid sellout of THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER #1 from the legendary creative team of Brian Azzarello & Eduardo Risso (100 Bullets, Batman) at the distributor level. Following the sell out of Spectregraph #1 by James Tynion IV and Christian Ward, THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER made its welcome debut last week in comic book shops, following a wave of glowing early reviews and months of fervent fan anticipation.

While DSTLRY distribution partners Diamond Comic Distributors and Lunar Distribution have exhausted their inventories, enthusiastic readers can still find copies of THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER #1 at their local comic shops, as well as with exclusive covers through dstlry.co. THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER follows three children who set off across the wild Texas frontier to rescue their mother—kidnapped by ruthless outlaws who gunned down their preacher father. Throughout their journey, they'll face the harsh elements of an unforgiving landscape, deadly animals hungry for blood, merciless bounty hunters and so much more...all in a relentless quest to rescue their family.

"I'm very happy with both the response we've gotten and that BBM has a home at DSTLRY. This is an uncompromising story that Eduardo and I have wanted to tell for a while,” writer Brian Azzarello explains. “Figures the new kid on the block would have the cajones to publish it."

“Contrasting the violence of the old American West with the landscape’s natural beauty was a challenging task, but I’m happy to see that retailers and readers have gotten to experience Brian’s and my vision,” continued artist Eduardo Risso.

Spinning out of Azzarello & Risso’s 6-page story “Deleted Scene, #2” from DSTLRY’s debut release, The Devil’s Cut, THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER is edited by industry legend Will Dennis (Snow Angels, Y: The Last Man).

“Given their prolific history, it means a lot to say that THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER is our favorite creation from Azzarello & Risso,” said DSTLRY co-founders Chip Mosher and David Steinberger in a joint statement. “It’s the effort of two masters working in complete harmony.”

DSTLRY, the next-generation publisher redefining creator-owned comic books and collectibles, proudly announces LIFE, an innovative six-issue series that unites co-writers Brian Azzarello (THE BLOOD BROTHERS MOTHER, 100 Bullets) and Stephanie Phillips (Grim, Harley Quinn) for the first time. Joined by artist Danijel Žeželj (Nostalgia) and colorist Lee Loughridge (SOMNA, Deadly Class), the team constructs an interlocking flip book, anchored by two violent stories that collide on a desolate prison planet. LIFE is edited by industry legend Will Dennis (Y: The Last Man, The Losers, Snow Angels). LIFE #1 will be on sale later this summer in print and digital.

“LIFE is about justice—and that being given more life isn't necessarily a gift. It explores incarceration and culture through the extreme filter of crime fiction. It's confrontational, though Danijel makes it incredibly seductive to look at,” Phillips & Azzarello said in a joint statement. “The flipbook design allows us to develop two narrative perspectives that will clash and segue through a prison break and a heist. Pick your poison.”

Artist Danijel Žeželj added, "World building on LIFE has been immensely rewarding, allowing me to approach this brutal ecosystem from two very different angles. DSTLRY’s oversized format allows so much more freedom to accomplish that feat.”

Debuting this summer, LIFE presents a grim future where the most depraved prisoners face a new extreme punishment—artificial immortality that lasts the length of their combined sentences. After centuries pass, the forgotten prisoners encounter a ship filled with intergalactic thieves eyeing the planet’s long-abandoned mines. Unbeknownst to the pirates, their target is far from deserted, haunted by the remaining prisoners now mutated into grotesque monsters.

Each story—that of the prisoners and thieves—initially unfolds independently through each end of LIFE’s innovative flipbook design. The stories crash and catalyze in surprising ways, as Phillips and Azzarello peel back the layered connections between the two groups and their looming brutal confrontation.

“Stephanie, Brian, and Danijel are responsible for some of the most transgressive and challenging comics the medium can call its own, and LIFE amplifies that experimentation,” DSTLRY Co-Founders Chip Mosher & David Steinberger said in a join statement. “This series pushes boundaries in both form and function. It’s simply arresting.”

Each issue of LIFE is presented in DSTLRY's signature perfect-bound Prestige format. As a flip-book, each issue of LIFE features full cover art on front on and back with spot gloss on robust stock. The debut issue of LIFE features 56 pages while subsequent issues will have DSTLRY’s standard 48 pages with exquisite interior paper quality. “It’s the DSTLRY difference,” says co-founder and CCO Chip Mosher.

DSTLRY, the next-generation publisher redefining creator-owned comic books and collectibles is thrilled to announce THE MISSIONARY from writer Ryan Stegman (Venom, Superior Spider-Man, X-Men, Vanish) and artist Jason Howard (Batman, Trees, Big Girls, The Astounding Wolf-Man), teaming up to create a horror comic for the ages, debuting in print and digital in late summer.

Bryce Hunter is a devoutly religious man whose faith is shattered when he catches his wife being...intimate with an Elder from his church. This harrowing event sends Bryce spiraling into the hands of a demonic entity named Uvydus.

Instead of rejecting possession, Bryce accepts Uvydus. Bryce wants to learn to be “bad” and Uvydus wants to be “less than completely evil.” But before Bryce can use this new partnership to live a little, the world's greatest Exorcist sees Bryce as his greatest challenge. But that's not even the worst of it as a murderous group of demons breaks free from Hell and threatens to re-shape earth into a kingdom over which they rule!

The combination of Bryce and Uvydus allows the pair to manifest demonic powers to fight both the EVIL and GOOD forces that want them destroyed. The fate of eternity hangs in the balance as Bryce and Uvydus must fight to not just survive, but reconcile their opposite natures and become THE MISSIONARY.

“Jason and I are having a hell of a time grappling with eternal questions of ethics and spirituality, but we’re also making THE MISSIONARY as exciting as possible,” co-creator and writer Ryan Stegman explains. “Jason is doing the work of his career and I can’t wait for you to see these tortured souls on their missions of damnation.”

"THE MISSIONARY has been an absolute blast to bring to life,” co-creator and artist Jason Howard continues. “Ryan has made a blockbuster that transcends heaven and hell with a very human heart, and I’ve had an amazing time putting it on the page.”

An action-packed story that features demons, gun battles, and a friendship for the ages, THE MISSIONARY will be loved by fans of Preacher, Chainsaw Man, and The Exorcist.

Each issue of THE MISSIONARY is presented in DSTLRY’s perfect-bound Prestige format, featuring wraparound covers with spot gloss on robust cover stock, complemented by 48 pages of exquisite interior stock. “It’s the DSTLRY difference,” says co-founder and CCO Chip Mosher.

"Ryan and Jason have proven themselves as modern masters of sequential art, and THE MISSIONARY is a brilliant culmination of their expertise,” Chip Mosher & David Steinberger say in a joint statement. “It’s an enthralling mix of action, character, and horror that we’ve never seen before. These are exactly the kind of voices that we want to add to DSTLRY’s roster.”

DSTLRY, the next-generation publisher redefining creator-owned comic books and collectibles, is thrilled to announce the launch of TIME WAITS, a white-knuckle sci-fi series that spans time and space. TIME WAITS unites Eisner and Harvard-Award Winner Chip Zdarsky (Batman, Daredevil, Sex Criminals) and co-writer David Brothers (Good Devils, Go Back) with artist Marcus To (Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Force),colorist Matt Wilson (Thor, Paper Girls), and letterer Ariana Maher (Demon Days: X-Men, Crush & Lobo) for the tale of a corporate mercenary from a dystopian future pursued by his former overseers in the past. TIME WAITS #1 will be on sale later this summer in print and digital.

This project marks the first of four series by Chip Zdarsky for DSTLRY.

TIME WAITS revolves around Blue, a time-traveling soldier of fortune who abandons his war and finds asylum in a small rural town nestled in his timeline’s distant past—our present. After Blue falls in love with the local sheriff, Grace, the couple builds a life of gardening and domestic tranquility. But just as Blue and Grace debate expanding their family through adoption, Blue’s former corporate lords from the future locate the deserter and send soldiers to ruthlessly reclaim their property and the secret he’s been hiding.

“It’s been an amazing process to explore the different lives and eras of TIME WAITS with David and Marcus,” co-writer Chip Zdarsky explains. “There’s a huge tapestry of story here and we’re beyond excited to reveal how these characters collide—often with huge explosions expertly crafted by Marcus—throughout TIME WAITS.”

“Exploring sci-fi violence in a small town with Chip and Marcus has been a great time, right up our alley,” co-writer David Brothers continues. “A time-traveling vendetta is a great way to complicate things for a couple who are starting to slow down—not to mention the fun of getting to dig into the best parts of both settings.”

“Drawing this book has been an absolute blast. I have been able to flex my character acting muscles as well as try something different with my storytelling in DSTLRY’s oversized format,” artist Marcus To says. “I loved drawing these characters interacting with each other in both calm and violent ways, and Chip and David have created a winding, surprising story that’s hard to put down.”

“We’ve been following Chip’s career for years and we’re delighted to have him join DSTLRY—TIME WAITS is the perfect debut project,” DSTLRY co-founders Chip Mosher and David Steinberger explain in a joint statement. “Chip, David, and Marcus have crafted an imminently cool and character-rich slice of genre fiction that’s immediately engaging.”

Each issue of TIME WAITS is presented in DSTLRY’s perfect-bound Prestige format, featuring wraparound covers with spot gloss on robust cover stock, complemented by 48 pages of exquisite interior stock. “It’s the DSTLRY difference,” says co-founder and CCO Chip Mosher.
