Mean Girls too. There’s a few pink. Grand Budapest hotel, companion (bit more peach), Babygirl, maxxxine, baby driver, duel (HMV Japanese), there was something like clueless but not clueless.
Sorry that's happened dude.My HMV order was dispatched as normal and then a few days later I received this email confirming a full refund with reason given as " Unwanted Return ". I've been using HMV for a long time now for most of my UK orders and this has never happened before. I love how the email doesn't even apologise in anyway at all. I know it's an automated reply but still. Just a little pissed off really, and of course it's sold out now. Ordered it from Amazon US, now just wait and see if it comes in a small box or mangled in one of those jiffy type things they have.
I’m really hoping on gone girl, button and dragon tattoo but I’d also finally really like a nice zodiac steel too. I’ve skipped every single steel and it’s one of my favourites of his along with Se7en and this.Yeah, I watched this last night and it looked excellent. Better than se7en, not that there was anything wrong with that either, so I've got no issues with his revisions.
I'm hoping Gone Girl is up next, his last great film, and that'll look excellent with it's existing 4K DCP - as would The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I love Benjamin Button, but that'll likely receive the same 2K upscale as Zodiac did. I need to rewatch The Game, I can barely remember it.
The Game, though I can barely remember the film itself, I do remember looking solid on the near 15yr old Criterion blu-ray. That was only a 2K remaster though, and it looks like went back to Universal 10yrs ago, so someone would have to fully remaster that again, but that could look great in 4K, for sure.I’m really hoping on gone girl, button and dragon tattoo but I’d also finally really like a nice zodiac steel too. I think The Game has the potential to look amazing in 4K if done right
Thanks for that information. I was completely unaware of that as a thing. They definitely need to sort that s**t out. My Amazon US order has dispatched and should be with me Friday. Yes, don't remind me of that Lawrence Steelbook debacle. First off I didn't much care for the Steelbook art so didn't order it on it's first release stupidly thinking it wouldn't be long before standard case release would happen ( that was a mistake ) and it didn't until very recently. I then pre-ordered it on that very limited second print run as by that time I began to think a standard release wasn't going to happen anytime soon and my order was cancelled. Finally got it on the third time around and then after that they released the standard case edition that had a lovely version of the original poster art the Steelbook should have had, but they even f**k**d that up by not putting a slipcover on it. I do however now have the HD Zeta Steelbook which is gorgeous.Sorry that's happened dude.
It happened to me once before at HMV, where they cancelled my order for no reason; upon contacting customer services, they stated it was a order code tag error that occurred. Someone cancelled their own pre order which in turn cancelled mine instead. Again, like you, it was out of stock. I think it was the Lawrence of Arabia steel, back when it was in super short supply. Very annoying. Took me a while to find another copy. Luckily they reprinted it.
Hope you find another one and gets to you okay
Need this. I've had the bluray steelbook sitting there for a while & read the transfer is inferior to the Arrow bluray by a distance, so never watched it. The Game is my 2nd favourite Fincher behind FC. It's properly underrated imo. I'd really like a premium for it but just patiently waiting for 4k at least. But when the Arrow bluray release is right there, it feels a bit of a slog now. Hopefully not much longer... surely we get it for 30th Anniversary next year...I think The Game has the potential to look amazing in 4K if done right

The Arrow transfer is harder to get a hold of now, I'm the same as you mate, not seen that one but feel The Game is long overdue for a revival. It's been far too long out of the picture. Definitely way underrated. Had this on VHS, used to rinse watching it back in the late 90s.
One the earliest steel pickups for me was the heavily glossed/embossed Clown head steelbook for The Game. A steel I'll never part with. Without a doubt we could do with an update next year.

Actually managed to grab that at CEX near me in mint condition believe it or not. Was only after I found out about the transfer. Same as you I wouldn't part with it.
