Personally I'd order another copy from elsewhere in the meantime and sort the return for your copy from HMV when you can as long as you know you'll be able to return it for a refund.
Alternatively, you could wait a few months for the inevitable Manta/Blufans/Weet, etc announcements then we can all double dip...
Yeah agreed, I actually ordered another copy from HMV a day or two ago as I was pretty confident they'd be out before the 25th. Are we expecting a 4k version from Manta?
Just speculation and general cynicism/cheekiness on my part. Wouldn't be surprised to see some premium releases further down the line though...

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else had issues with this disk? I’m now on my third replacement disk and just like the first two it won’t load on my Panasonic UB450! To clarify I have no other issues with any other disc, only this. The player gets used daily and I am yet to have a problem with anything else, only this title. The disc boots to load and then I just get the Panasonic UHD black screen, I can’t even get to the disc menu. Has anyone else experienced this. As I said early this is now the third disc and every one has done the same.
Have you done a clean of the UHD disc with a dry fiber cloth
Menu not loading is often caused by the residue that’s on UHD discs you can’t see the residue with a physical visual inspection so a disc will look clean.
Some UHD players it varies when the residue causes issues you can have times when it’s not affected.
Playing surface of the disc clean from center to edge it might take a few attempts as you can’t see the residue.
Also clean inside the SteelBook Hub area as the residue transfers from the disc

All three discs I’ve had have played perfectly on my ps5. Not one has played on my Panasonic UB450 it’s strange and my UB450 has no issues playing any other title only Fight Club.
Did you do a clean of the disc yes or no
Some UHD players are more sensitive to the residue at times and Panasonic and Sony standalone UHD players often have issues
The residue can cause menu not loading or cause video freezing and sound dropouts problems during playback it varies what happens.
You can have times you won’t see it happen and then will later
Yes I’ve clean the disc….. I’ve cleaned all THREE. This is the third replacement not to load the menu screen on my player but works fine on the PS5.
Have you got BD-Live turned on in your Panasonic network settings? If so, try changing it to 'prohibit' to see if that helps.
BD-Live has been known to cause loading issues if turned on...
Every single 4K disc I buy gets cleaned with a lens wipe before playing. Out of my 160+ 4k discs the only issues I have is with a couple that experience split second Dolby Atmos dropouts, otherwise no issues on my Panasonic UB9000, no freezing, no pixellation, no loading issues...
Looks like you are not alone m8...
Multiple people had issues with playback on 4k players according to this thread. Although many reference LG UBK80.
I guess Sony want people to buy their new player really bad
