OLD IMAGE:

The film that ushered in the modern age of horror - Jamie Lee Curtis, in her debut role, plays a babysitter who must protect herself from the deadly Michael Myers, a mental institution escapee who killed his sister on Halloween fifteen years earlier. Called "the most successful independent motion picture of all time, HALLOWEEN is one of most frightening films ever made. Packed with brand-new extras and a brand new HD transfer from original vault elements for a true, definitive collector's edition.

ORIGINAL POST:
I am posting this here, as I know there are many fans of the film, and it could turn out to be some collector's edition (though it does not say that here). But, so I don't lose the thread, I won't put it in the regular Blu-Ray area for the USA just in case.

Per 'The Digital Bits':

Anchor Bay has revealed that they’re working on a new Halloween: 35th Anniversary Edition for release on Blu-ray and DVD later this year. They’re calling it “the greatest version with exciting extras” and have even reunited star Jamie Lee Curtis and director John Carpenter for the festivities. We’ll have more official details as they’re announced.

will this be region free?

The standard Halloween blu ray was Anchor Bay and was region free, but since then all Anchor Bay titles have been region A locked, so my guess is that if this is the only 35th anniversary being released then it will be region locked, but if it turns out to be a worldwide release then maybe region free, but its most likely region A locked mate

I think I watched this once a very long time ago, or maybe it was just the opening and I never got any further. Hm.

I think I'll watch Pusher II tonight and then when it gets real late I'ma put on Halloween. :D

Horror fans...October is coming up soon...stay tuned for our annual 'Last Horror movie you watched' thread which is always fun at that time of year:)

That's a shame it's region A locked, looks like I will be getting the steelbook then. Thanks for the heads up mate.

Luckily i have a region free player so its not to bad, but its really poor quality so im still really annoyed by this :(
Would have thought it would be region free if we are getting a release as well, but i guess not :(
