Well, it looks like A24 for sure, the jokes are correct, I think they're becoming predictable.



When the soundtrack list comes up, I'm usually all excited, but here I'm like - what's those words, who are these people? :meh:

There is much to like here - the 90's setting, starting in '96, precisely when I went to high school, with all the attributes of the era, like VHS tapes and film development, catching airings of a TV show, which is like a more artsy Buffy show, a printed episode guide, etc. The notion that childhood shows seem so much better than they really are, if you rewatch them later, as an adult. The quick passing of time, as if chapters on a DVD are skipped, as one character aptly says.
Then there's an identity crisis, a psychological sickness, and none of it is really explored much. A sad ending that tells us not to be like that character. Overall everyone will draw their own conclusions from it. It's mainly a gay/trans drama I believe, but even a straight guy like me found something interesting to think about in it.
