Ok, so I never seen a movie at the theater/cinema in IMAX. I'm very confused about the experience quality in general. I have heard the term LIE-MAX, and now am even more confused about IMAX VS. IMAX 3D.

What's the difference?

I heard you have to wair glasses for both, or is that true?? Please leave insight to help me and other IMAX newbies. :emb:

You don't have to wear glasses for regular IMAX but you do for IMAX 3d. The IMAX experience has to do with the sound whic is amazing and 4k projection which most movies are anyway now

It will really spoil you for regular movie experiences, but the price is high

Here in Orlando area we have 2 versions of IMAX. We have the wannabe IMAX theaters( Official IMAX but not the real deal) and then we have THE IMAX theater( Biggest Projection Screen available and 40+ speakers and 4(?) Ginormous Subs :D this theater is Crazy awesome. I went to see Transformers 3 and Holy Sh!t!!!!! It was AWESOME!!! Tickets are about 15(?) Each but MAN IT IS WORTH IT!!! No need for special glasses for normal 2D IMAX viewing.

I'm thinking of going to see Gravity on THE REAL IMAX theater.

Search Pointe Orlando Imax Theater for more info :)
