I actually think the design on this (without the lenticular thing, which I generally don't care for too much) is REALLY nice! I haven't received mine yet, but from what I've seen in the pictures this looks like an awesome steelbook... except that it only has one disc. The early promo pics of this clearly showed two disc slots, so I always assumed it would come with the bonus disc. I have the original release, which is just a regular Amaray version and it it the 2-disc edition, so I might end up selling this steelbook when I receive it, as the bonus features are always very important to me and I don't want to double-dip on movies. (I originally was planning on selling the Amaray version when I pre-ordered this).
And for those who are completely losing their **** and ranting about this being a 1-disc release: so was the Play.com exclusive Iron Man steelbook three years ago and nobody seemed to make a huge deal about it. Now this release seems like the worst thing ever. I know Zavvi has terrible customer service and they generally handle some things, like Zboxes, returns and refunds terribly, but damn, just because it's a Zavvi exclusive release doesn't automatically make it the worst steelbook ever. What exactly is wrong with the design, as I saw a lot of people completely bashing it?

Of course there's nothing wrong with the design.
No surprise here that it's 1 disc
I'd guess that any ill-feeling towards it is more out of "sour grapes" than anything else due to the fact that it hasn't been available yet for general consumption (i.e. by itself in the 'proper' way)

Zavvi Iron Man Steelbook
The Steelbook itself is a matte finish
The Lenti is very glossy and a fingerprint magnet and makes the steelbook look as if it's a gloss steelbook at first glance
It actually looks ok to me and the lenti does line up with a little adjustment and looks good
Photos of the lenti will not show it at its best will need to be seen in the flesh it's not Nova lenti quality but in my opinion it is better than Blufans lenti which I did not think was very good but it's not as good as the Kimchi Lenti or Nova Avengers Lenti
The Zavvi Lenti has slight 3D effect when moved and I like the lenti gloss look itself even though it dont do much
The Front of the Steelbook is similar to Blufans but not as good in terms of the steelbook itself in comaprision
Overall the Blufans is lot better that was just letdown by its transition lenticular
Be careful with the lenti when cleaning and best to avoid contact or keep it to a minimum contact and use a very delicate soft fibre cloth and don't rub to much as it might leave scratch on the lenti especially if you use a cloth that is rough or cheap
It will collect fingerprints with ease if touched and requires a very good quality soft fibre cloth
Don't use a fibre cloth that can mark a glass surface

If the reported 4,000 print run is true and accurate I'd say there's a very good chance of a standalone release and maybe even before the end of this month.
Just keep your ear to the ground.

The Play.com exclusive was only £10.99 if memory serves. This release is more than double that, then to add insult to injury, the impression I got was that this release was exclusive to that bloody ZBOX. So, I'm irked beyond any sane, rational, normal irking standard.
