I am delighted it's now been confirmed as definitely iron man steelbook. The person who revealed it the other day clearly has the inside news and the picture is the same as was revealed. I really like the look of the artwork.

As people will see from many of my posts we have had no end of problems with zavvi but here I don't get the level of outrage. If you don't want it, they aren't forcing you to buy it. It's an exclusive product they have that people have asked for, an ironman steelbook and also a zbox with a steelbook included??

Please don't defend them on this. It's insulting.
They just want to make more money plus they clearly have a deal in place for a long time with this Zbox considering you can buy monthly plans for it. Also they would have set up a new department with a group of people working on the Zbox, they are trying to make their sales higher by doing this which is clear to me the Zboxs are not selling well and now they have targeted steelbook collectors with this. Also why cant they also sell this on it's own like previous bundles?

Zavvi have to take the hit for this by people voting with their wallets and not purchasing. I will clearly happen again

You know you and I perhaps even have more reason than most to dislike zavvi so believe me I wouldn't defend them but come on it's hardly the end of the world, as I've said just don't buy it and particularly the people who already own an ironman steelbook, let's all just breathe in and out...

the zbox is holding the steelbook hostage. its as simple as that.

zavvi are betting on collectors paying the ransom.

dont do it. steelbook collectors shouldnt negotiate with...zavvi... because you know what will happen if they get the ransom money? they will do it again and again with other steels and up the ante.

I was right ha-ha!

It may be part of a shitbox right now but when it doesn't sell out they will have to release the remaining stock.

they DON'T have to actually, if they were really sneaky they would keep it as part of the zbox deal and wait and wait and not sell it seperatley, collectors will break before zavvi and fear getting it any other way as it will be on eBay starting at £40 just for the steelbook, I can already see it and people will just end up buying the bundle but I'm not sure they are so smart.

Motto: ZBOX- just say NO!

Zavvi sure seems to know how to gain good will and respect

There are many Iron Man steelbook releases I don't have in my collection (and never will); I can certainly survive without this one :D

I never said it's the end of the world but mine and many others points are they will keep doing this.

I think Iike the iron man thread this might as well get locked also, as the same debate is going round and round and zavvi don't care, they have proved that many times in many situations.

I hear you but Zavvi tried to screw us with hiking the prices for the Pirates & recent Pixar steels eventually they dropped the price back down when no one was biting.

Considering a lot of the buyers originate from here and the other forum and everyone is pretty much saying the same thing so I think there is a pretty good chance that they flog them separately, at the end of the day they will want to shift them to create space for their next rip off, I mean new stock ;)

Why am I not surprised. Zavvi pulling another fast one
BIG pass. It's too bad because I would have bought the steel alone.

As stated in that thread, Iron Man thread was locked because it is not clear whether the Steelbook will be available separately. No plans to lock this one unless profanity outraces constructive criticism, and conversely other comments from folks who will add this to their collections. Thanks guys!

They ready should have done this without the Zbox
Iron Man would have sold out mega fast on its own now they are expecting hoping customers go for the Zbox Combo
They can now expect this to take a while to sell instead of an instant sell out

It would be different if the Zbox were something that was good but so far I have not seen one zbox that's of any value or have anything decent in them

Yeah, that's not true at all.

The value of a "mystery box" will vary due to individual tastes and I understand that the tie-in marketing of desired steelbooks with their mystery box leaves a sour taste in many folk's mouths but they have had some decent stuff in them once they got going (the first two boxes were awful, no question).

The zombie t-shirt with the superb exclusive illustration by Dan Mumford (who also designed that gorgeous Fifth Element Steelbook and the Wicker Man steelbook too). The Dredd replica badge was another cracking item. We've also had some nice Funko Pops and some exclusive cover-variant comics.

Infact the Cops Zbox (yep the one with the Dredd 3D tie-in -eek) had that Dredd Badge replica, the comic-book sequel to the Dredd 3D movie and a t-shirt as well as some dafter stuff.
The Cosmic box had an exclusive Star Wars T-Shirt, Star Wars 01 variant comic AND the much sought after Baby Groot Funko Pop as well as some other stuff. £20 isn't a rip-off when the comic and funko alone would set you back £15 retail. They aren't perfect - if you get a box that is on a theme you don't like, it's a bust really.

I get the irritation with Zavvi, I really do, as their customer service is crap and their inability with the recent debacle which could have been quickly resolved if they simply told us that the Dredd Keyring was indeed being despatched separately to the Dredd 3D steelbook - I mean that's simple stuff, but I would have expected people on a movie/collectors forum to understand why boxes full of geeky stuff appeal to many. Being annoyed at the tie-in - fine, but trashing the tie-in product which continues to improve each month, just because you are annoyed is a tad disingenuous.

Have you watched the unboxing videos not the one now that's on Zavvi website but on YouTube

Majority of what's in a Zbox is junk yes the odd one has something that's decent but overall most of it is not high quality and getting only 1 or 2 decent items if your lucky is not good for a customer while the others gets a mix of cheap items its a lucky bag the Zbox as to what you get

The exception is the mega Zbox that customers can win in a draw each month but that's only one person wins that and is the only person who get's something amazing that's worth a lot of money

The Zbox remind me of years ago I'm showing my age here were you went to a site or units in a clearance shop and they were selling lucky bags some had decent items and the rest was junk these were fixed were one guy or female would purchase a lucky bag/box and got items worth a lot of money and the rest of the customers got a mixed bag or box of junk with odd item decent the rule was you cant open the box until after you have paid by the time all had paid the sellers left and legged it

In my opinion if they want to sell a Zbox with a steelbook offer a reasonable discount by ordering a steelbook and a Zbox but both items at all times are still separate to order on their own if the customer requires
The customer can then if needed get the steelbook cheaper as part of that discount by buying a Zbox

I agree you should be able to order both separately. As you could end up like me and get the Zbox and then not receive the steelbook (Ratatouille) in my case. Then by the time there customer dis-service sort out whats happened, it sells out, and you miss out, but keep a box of crap you never wanted in the first place. So a word of warning if you think ordering with a Zbox secures you a copy of Ironman, if like in my case, no despatch email for the steelbook, then 6 weeks of emails to find out where it is, to be told it must of got lost in the post, with no way to prove it was ever sent in the first place. I will not play that game again, so will not be ordering with a Zbox. Although the steelbook looks like it could be pretty good hoping this will become available on its own.
