Easier said than done, I feel like anyone coming within the last year or so to this stuff is going to struggle to get into most GBs.

For mega popular titles like this it might not be the worst idea for the premium labels to commit a certain quantity to direct orders, just so it doesn't feel like getting your head stomped on when you try and order direct or at the very least us silly little customers have an idea of how bad the odds are going to be rather than going in blind everytime.
Oh I've been part of his group buys for many many years so have no issues but yes agree for new people or even people who dont buy often he will most likely turn you down if its a big release as he a priority list and a crazy amount of people have been joining in the last year. Too much demand unfortunately.

Went with the DLA in the end as I couldn’t decide. Stuck at work but I got lucky with no one in my shop so I stuck a back 5 minutes on the door. Had to go out and be like oh sorry had a very important call to take hope everyone got what they wanted.

I struck out 3 times. OC-FS-DLB. Its common to die in the PayPal window.
I was enthusiastic with this release, however, I am in for a Whole Bloody Affair release now.
It will probably be a two disc 4K release.
That's why you should pick the least favorite, and go straight for it, otherwise you lose time and this happens.
The least favorite is usually the best too, because people got no taste or sense. :naughty:

Yeah I just see one of the product pages says 1 per customer. But found it weird he’d want 2 of the same and not 2 separate slips. Suppose easier to add to cart
Yeah, I always order 2× of the same, because one or the other friend wants one as well, and it's quicker to click on a Plus, than to load another page and add to cart. This time the + didn't 'plus', and I lost a few seconds pressing it, but still managed to get the DL-B.

Not gonna bother anymore seems like they’re giving more to GBs now who screw you over on price. Seeing more and more sites listing these releases for double the price and having large numbers of each edition.

Manta FKs the people who built them - just like FA did - look where they are now....

Yep, exactly that. Far less risky to add 2 of the same to the cart to checkout quick than zipping across 2 pages that usually go live a slightly different times.

so either they’re using bots or manta is giving more copies away than they’d usually do
They're 100% using bots. There's a guy from my local forum that wrote a custom Amazon price tracker, before there were any apps like Keepa, and nowadays he's easily ordering multiple copies from MantaLab for his little private group of assholes, that suck up to him.

Yea ignore me. Only reason I asked is because I thought you sometimes get 2 different slips like I do and just wondered why you wanted 2 of the same and didn’t think that I might be to sell one or for a friend etc

I know a few using bots as well and have been doing it ever since premiums first started. I imagine way more people do it then we imagine.

I thought that bots were banned? Or isn’t there a way for Manta to block them at least?

I've definitely done this and it's not a bad strategy when there isn't one particular slip you are committed to getting, and it's even better when the least popular one is your favorite.

Depends on the implementation, if you're just using it to speed up the add to cart to reach paypal/checkout then I would guess there's nothing they can really do about it.

That might also explain why people doing it manually are now all ending up in the queue.

When I'm not worried about a crazy quick sellout, and I'm unsure, I do tend to get 2 different slips and sell the least favourite. Otherwise it's safer to just grab 2 of the same, even if it's just for the split shipping benefit.

Ive had no joy buying direct for about 4 years the last 2 I managed to bag direct were dune 1 fs and tenet fs .Its really frustrating having to go through group buys it’s over 25% hike at least not to sure why mantalab give so many copies to group buys if most people are paying these hikes generally and buying from scalpers on eBay it would make more sense for ml to inflate there prices direct and avoid giving a bulk of there orders to group buys/3rd parties then they could profit more direct - no idea what there strategy is one group buy has 1200 slips and 600 one clicks insane

I get a headache thinking of how much profit the group buy groups must be making .(
