Nova is a Korean company and Manta is a Hong Kong Company. So I doubt they have any affiliation.

Well thanks for that but Aniv has handled the group buys directly with novamedia the past few months and even mentioned a new direct shipping method with them In the new year, and now we're in the new year he is representing Manta Labs who are putting out a very similar steelbook package as novamedia with the same direct shipping method as pitched for Nova. So it stands to reason that these two are tied someway as Aniv is working with them both

Silly question @Aniv is the subtitles "complex Chinese" readable to mandarin speakers?

Why do you think that it could be NOT readable for madarin speakers?

I own many releases from Asian and I speak madarin chinese natively. Never saw a release in which chinese characters didn't show correctly. It's not like you need the chinese character codes installed on your bluray player.

use

Just becsuse Cantonese characters are different from mandarin and I don't know what complex Chinese is either Cantonese or mandarin characters :bag::facepalm:

@yy0925

I believe the question is more about Simplified Chinese vs. Traditional ("complex") Chinese subtitles, not about the complexity of the characters themselves.

Typically Traditional Chinese characters are used in Hong Kong.

Thanks for the info, this may mean it is not suitable for mandarin users :ohno: but I'll wait for @Aniv confirmation. Not a biggy just wanted my father and mother in law to be able to watch as they are from north China.

I am from Taiwan myself. I knew it was about simplyfied vs. complex.
The question was much more where you come from, not what dialect you speak.
People from China read simplyfied Chinese.

Ok cool, so considering this release says Cantonese and complex, not simplified do you think it is just for Cantonese users? Would not be surprising considering Manta is from HK. Maybe some feedback for @Aniv and Manta for future to include simplified subs for rest of China?

Too expensive for a new retailer...looks good but we still havent seen detailed in hand shots and its mostly description. Movie is not a latest release as well, i genuinely dont get the hype...i think loads of retailers will release different versions of this movie due to the new movie, i am skipping at this point. If it was a more reasonable price, i would have started with the new retailer...but at present i will sit by the fence.

Good idea and feedback. however any future releases from HK wont be any cheaper as the licensing costs are high. The production shots will be here soon enough but most GB's are sold out for 1 clicks. There will be some on the store for purchase but you have to be quick if you do decide you want it :)
