Too expensive for a new retailer...looks good but we still havent seen detailed in hand shots and its mostly description. Movie is not a latest release as well, i genuinely dont get the hype...i think loads of retailers will release different versions of this movie due to the new movie, i am skipping at this point. If it was a more reasonable price, i would have started with the new retailer...but at present i will sit by the fence.

You're right, it's not a new release. So why would retailers create more premium releases of it? The time for premium releases for this movie would have been two years ago. It didn't do particularly well at the box office, so I don't think it will really be getting more love anytime soon.

With the DC films all lined up like marvel and actually going forward with making them I think we will for this release over the next year/ year and half.
Especially now batman vs superman is a few weeks away and then Aquaman, flash, Wonder Woman etc
We will see the same to what happens with marvel steels getting premium exclusives
I would not be surprised if FAC, nova and/ or blu fans do them anyway

As far as couple of points further up the page.
Most of these if not all will work with people to sell there products ,makes sense.
A email or some have links on there website as Manta Lab does to get in touch about these matters.
.
These are all small companies with small-ish margins so unsold stock is not welcome to say the least
And if some one wants to bulk order or do group buy /GB host on forums social media sites its in there favour on many counts
They have got rid of XX amount of stock
You're promoting advertising selling etc there stock for no cost to them
whats not to like for them
Quick google will lead you to exclusive Manta Lab and other GBs from other Steelbook companies on sites forums across the net
There will be a minimum amount you have to to take and pay for if you sell them or not.

Whats in it for you ?
if a company or different companies are releasing regularly and your representing them on forums sites it will be non stop packing, parcels, trips to post office, travelling non/ late payers, admin, unsold stock for you maybe, pulling your hair out, abuse from people ,grieve !
So on the face of it not much.
Guess bit of glory for some
Bulk orders will be at a cheaper rate per item than advertised normal price (standard business practice)
Most not all hosts/sites charge or ask for a small amount or you can tip them for there time effort costs involved and this can add up obviously to large amounts of money for the sites or individual involved.
Is it worth it ?
Ask them !!

I'm looking forward to the pics too, those who have held off due to them being a new retailer I understand and they don't want to take risk. Once feedback roles in for MOS we can all make better judgement.

I am positive simply due to the fact that the manufacturer used will know about the competition and retailer has already said would be of Nova quality standards. With the planned finishes of embossing, UV etc this adds that little special touch. The great choice of artwork is another positive. Understand that a lot of elements are subjective but they have done a good job so far to cater for the majority.

If they listen to the fans and get more and more special finishes like holo effect, texturing like FACs Jurassic World or Edward Scissor Hands, metal foils, UV and embossing on their slips, nice Gloss/Spot gloss, de/emboss on the steels, they will be onto a winner.

And @Aniv please can we make sure of consistsncy across DC releases on the spine titles. E.g ensure the titles are either fully centred or start at the same location on the spine and have same size lettering as much as possible? The OCD fans would love this!

Completely agree.

Also I have to add / summarize.

If you take short cuts i.e. buy a single item and manage to sell it at 200% profit you will be publicly hung and executed by collectors. Just look at how people feel about those that sell or trade for a huge profit ...

You have to do it the noble way ... via GB's. Make small profits but from hundreds of people. Get tips etc. Be praised for being the best human being in the world.

No one will hate you. On the contrary you will be worshipped like a God.

Why ? because you're helping suppliers shift a lot of stock and essentially marketing their products as you are exposed to more collectors. So it's the 'CORRECT' way of doing things.

I am scratching my head wondering how do I receive tips now, since I moved to fixed invoicing so there is no room to modify the amount and not send me $ X to this paypal account format which would let generous folks such as you add a tip ;). I guess I will have to sell off my cars now :( lol JK

Just send one big PM with your paypal address for those who would like to and LOCK the PM from replies ... then no one gets spammed on every reply.

I'll tip you at Mondo Con 3! :emb:

Maybe you should do a GB on your own with 300-400 participants to see how much time and effort it costs. Even if the GB host don't ship on his own he needs to do lists, PMs, e-Mails, coordinate everything. In some cases they do advanced payment for multiple copies you could end up with without payment. For me that deserves a Tip. Like I give the waitress a Tip for serving me. It's a way to say thank you and the amount of tip is nothing compared to the time and effort he needs to bring up to.

And when we talk about tips: Here's a GB Host, I don't say his name, I received a damaged Steelbook from. In this case a damaged Lenticular and Full Slip. It was not his fault, it was the fault from the company. I contacted the company and they did nothing about it. What did the GB Host? Sent me a full refund via Paypal. I rejected it thankfully since it was not his fault and I didn't want his own money/tips but this is also something they got to deal with.

So its a totally different situation when you go on eBay and let's say sell a Filmarena for 300 % profit without doing nothing for it besides ordering 2x. How dare you comparing this?! So disrespectful. At least you should stop participating in GBs when this is your honest opinion.

But ... much of what @InAFalsetto has said is correct. But there is also truth to alot of yours above as well. In that there are good GB hosts who truly serve a purpose, (those who can swing things cause of their pull) and then there are others who fall in his classification. (hosting GBs by buying up bulk when they have a webstore to begin with) I've been in the game long enough to know. The true benefit for those Companies is when they are SMALL companies, small man-power, doing their own shipping ... imagine the time you can spend on creating more editions if you had to ship 10 packages of 100 each vs. 1000 individual packages. :wacky: HOWEVER, knowing full well what many of those so-called Companies margins are the comment of "there is little margin" is completely off base. Personally I hold a lot of weight and respect who muster the storm of as many individual packages as possible as that is how you gain a fan base , please your customers, keep the hobby healthy, and earn respect. If you have to navigate the waters with a little of both so be it , but not at the expense of hundreds of collectors missing out. No respect for that, no money from me! Everyone and their Momma are releasing pimped out editions, you need our support.

Other legitimate reasons for a GB Host would be that a foreign Company that is very small that does not speak English. So your customer service experience SUCKS ... if that is the case and there is a bi-lingual GB Host to be the buffer then it does make everyone's experience better.... you know, like if they are only charging a minimal amount.

Personally I feel there is just SOOOO many choices now days, and people should really take that to heart and vote with their wallets based on their TOTAL experience. Does the Company actually care about you? Do you truly care on what they are releasing? Are they continually improving or innovating? If so, support that Company. Be a part of the Journey.

Or say the hell with all paper and just buy Steels when on sale. :naughty:

Disclaimer: I'm not talking about any one single Company I am generalizing so no need someone thinking I'm singling any one Company out! :wtf:

With all respect John, that was not his point. He compared GB hosts with people who buying multiple copies and flipping them for 300 % profit and why we glorrify GB Hosts but hate scalpers since it is the same for him.

Hosting a GB is a service. For every service in the world you need to pay. So what's the point here when work is done, 300 people getting a copy and some tip the host some bucks for it? Is this the same like when I buy every release 2x for 30 a pop and sell it for 100 on eBay?! This works only because the people who wanted to be a part of the GB miss out because of that and then are forced to pay eBay prices. And this is not the value of the collector item, this is take adventage of the Situation.

And which GB Host on HDN is doing this, buying bulk and selling it with profit? I understand what your point is but I can't see someone like this at the moment doing GBs on HDN. And he was not pointing out a general problem. He went in @Aniv thread to say this.

And to end this, which company in the world cares more for the customer than for the money? It is all about the money in the end.

I am sorry if this was asked before but I am confused about the Lenti Slip

Does the ''Lenticular Slip'' = ''Side Lenti Slip'' like ''Blufans GOTG'' style ?
OR
Like a ''Nova Lenticular'' like Nightcrawler that slides in from TOP ?

@Aniv or Anyone who knows the answer ?
