Well, we have a store chain called Walgreens in the States--they're basically drug stores plus household stuff. That's where I get 'em!

But don't you find yourself always wiping off your fingerprints after you've handled a glossy steelbook? I use the gloves (sometimes) because I get sick of doing that.
I don't have a particular thing about keeping them sealed...
But I do keep them sealed until I open them to watch them.
And I do keep all of them in Steelbook Central Cases. It keeps them real "purdy" on the shelves!:D
Is that OCD or aesthetically pleasing disorder? (APD?!!)

I know this is a bit off topic but it's my opinion

Keeping steelbooks sealed never opened has risks
1) You don't know if it has damage or not so you can't say it's in perfect condition as you don't know it's condition for sure
2) Some Jcards that are glued to steelbooks can harden over time and when you try to remove the Jcard can damage the steelbook as in cause paint chips because the glue has attached itself and set into the steelbook or the Jcard tears when you try to remove it and can also discolour the steelbook the longer the glue remains

I open all my steelbooks but I do put them in protective resealable poly bags to protect them
I spend my cash on a steelbook to open and enjoy all of it's contents

My Full Slip of Man of Steel steelbook will be opened to enjoy all of the steelbook and artcards and booklet and Full Slip

I never get why collectors keep a steelbook sealed as in never opened unless it's to trade or sell at a later time
You never get to see the steelbook itself if your keeping it forever in your collection sealed unopened
When it's in a Lenti or Full Slip the only way to see the steelbook any of it is to unseal it

Not always, but then I guess it bothers some people more than most. I keep my most prized steels in those plastic slipcovers, but that's just to protect them from shelf wear... fingerprints are easily removed, so it's not something I worry about personally. If you wore the gloves because of germs, then I'd understand it a lot more... I'm a huge germaphobe lol. Joking aside... I can understand the use for gloves if fingerprints do bother you.

I gotta be honest. I love all you guys, but those of you who keep everything sealed are straight-up freaks. I have definite OC tendencies and handle everything very carefully (I've even been known to occasionally wear cotton gloves when handling glossy steelbooks), but I don't even use protective covers like those sold by Steelbook Central. And before joining this forum last year, I had never even heard of people keeping things sealed. I can kind of understand the ones who buy two and keep one sealed, but those who only buy one copy and keep it sealed: how can you possibly get any pleasure out of that?

I can see your point of view and I do envy those who open them, even my wife and son say "another Steelbook you won't open that will be boxed up" must be the comic book collector in me I suppose, but I can still appreciate a Steelbook even if it's sealed.

If you were single and a willing, panting Scarlett Johansson was writhing before you, you would keep her sealed.:p

Contradict much?

I can understand why people keep them sealed and why people open them. With expensive Items like this sealed copies are always worth more so if you do want to resell them then the value is still there. A lot of people get pleasure out of sealed copy's just as they would with other Collectibles such as comics which are never opened and read. Each to there own, we are all different kinds of collectors!:)
