This Limited Edition is available exclusively from zavvi.com in the UK and Europe. 6,000 copies of the PlayStation 3 version are now available for pre-order on the site, in addition to 4,000 copies of the Xbox 360 version. A total of just 8,000 (PS3) and 5,000 (Xbox 360) units of this edition are being manufactured worldwide, so numbers are strictly limited. Both of these editions have now appeared back on zavvi.com, and are both available for pre-order as of today, while stocks last.

If you placed a pre-order for the original PS3 Limited Edition that was announced back in August (and which was unfortunately made unavailable recently) that pre-order will be automatically carried over to secure you a copy of the updated edition.

Basically Zavvi's new release will have no MGS1 or MGS4 and more merch. Though some folks are reporting that Zavvi's promising MGS4 for those who pre-ordered the initial PS3 MGS HD Collection SB.

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater opens the set, with series hero Snake entering a Soviet jungle where intelligence reports a vital scientist is being held captive. Set in the 60s of the Cold War, Snake Eater sees Snake using his stealth abilities in a whole new locale - under the cover of the jungle foliage where various camo fatigues can be used to sneak into areas undiscovered. The riveting plot then reveals a familiar face from Snake's past at its centre.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker takes place a decade later and details the operations of Big Boss in Costa Rica. The year is 1974, and Costa Rica has been overrun by an organization of highly-trained mercenaries. Working with a squad of neutral troops, Snake soon uncovers a CIA plot, and becomes embroiled in a mission to thwart a nuclear threat. The timeline then moves on to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, which is set in modern times and marks Raiden's first appearance in the series.

Solid Snake and Otacon receive intel that a new kind of Metal Gear vehicle is being transported across the Hudson River. Snake infiltrates the tanker, which is then seized by a group of Russian mercenaries lead by Revolver Ocelot. Two years pass, and a new terrorist faction calling themselves The Sons of Liberty have taken over the Big Shell base. New Fox Hound operative, Raiden, is sent to investigate.

I believe they announced an extra 8000 copies + 4000 copies worldwide, hence, the reason why you see it in stock.

It looks to me like Zavvi are lying about any version of this being limited. It's top of their charts, sold out the original 4000 in less than 2 days, but is now still in stock after plenty of time for new orders. And they aren't even supposed to have the full allocation.

it's obvious, they printed more and the reason why it's still in stock. It's definitely not cheap to pay $110+ for the set...

They produced 8000 PS3 and 5000 XBOX..

I am still waiting for mine to arrive. It has been almost 2 weeks so I hope to get it soon... and not banged up. :/
It is really random though for Zavvi deliveries, I received things in 2 weeks before but the last order I had from them took a month or more.

I'm still waiting too, the weird thing is my friend I go to school with got his last Wednesday

The only difference was that my order was one of the original 4000, while his was not. I can't see how that would make a difference though, unless mine got stuck at customs.

Zavvi are absolutely rubbish at sending stuff out. We had to have one HD set replacement after they decided to send it out in a damn flimsy polybag, no wonder it arrived damaged, the replacement was much better.

Zavvi e-mailed me to let me know it shipped on 1/27. Granted, I'm in the U.S., but it's 2/16 and still nothing...lame. I just hope after all this it arrives safe. I'm ok with stickerbook for G1 if it's the only G1 I can get...for 360, I always want G1. Keep the stories coming...I'll update this when I get mine.

FYI, i ordered both the PS3 and 360 versions from Zavvi....360 version was supposedly shipped out first, then ps3 shipping email arrived a week later...and yet my ps3 version arrived last week while my 360 one still has not shown up.

Oh, and i ordered my 360 one in December 2011 and the PS3 one at the end of January...go figure!

I feel for you. I had the exact same pathetic packaging on mine. Somehow it was fine but how any company can send things out like that is beyond me.

Both my 360 and PS3 versions have arrived! The outer box does show a bit of wear on both but what are you going to do...

I think i may return the 360 version since i only got it for the G1 stickerbook/steelbook and i already bought that separately...

Needless to say, I won't be ordering from Zavvi ever again. My collection arrives in a flimsy box with the collection inside completely unprotected except for a strip of air bags along the top of the inside of the box. What a bunch of punk ass dicks...you are selling a collectors edition, so you think collectors might buy it?...the steel even has a few scuffs on the back from where it was sliding around in the box. Luckily, you can only see it in the perfect light and the camera can't pick it up. What a waste...that company can burn in hell as far as I'm concerned. I'm sick of these half ass chump companies who sell collectors stuff but treat it like ****.

Here's the box:

F Zavvi, 3 weeks to get it in the mail and I get this...but what do you want for $100?

Mine didn't arrive as badly dented as your soundwave, but the steelbook had a few scratches from being thrown around inside. I couldn't even pay for my product cus they kept screwing it up. I spent 2 weeks with their customerservice, and NOTHING. I ended up buying from their ebay store which worked out fine, but I'm never using zavvi again. their absolutely useless and if you check out online reviews of the site - it shows!

Really sucks about your coll edition soundwave.
