I disagree with the notion that it doesn't matter to a retailer if an item sells out in 3 weeks or 3 months. If the item hasn't sold out in 3 months it would likely be put in the sales to try and get rid of the stock. That means less profit margin for the retailer.

Zavvi would clearly like products to be sold out sooner rather than later, who wouldn't?

I do agree its bad customer service to not respond to customer complaints, especially when the complaints are in such large amount- it means that are actively avoiding addressing the issue. The exact opposite of customer service!

Zavvi could simply confirm the artwork is final and end the discussion.
A release that sells out at full price before release date if it takes 1 day or a few weeks or a few months its the same result

There would be no stock to reduce price on if sold out by release date lol

It's only if after release date you have a lot of unsold stock it would matter

Given that this is a pre order, it doesnt matter if sells out in an hour, a day, or a month as they haven't and can't take any money until it is sent.

This is how I feel about it as well but it isn't going to keep me from ordering these.
They're new 4K Star Wars SteelBooks and I have to have them.
See, I can't even use that excuse... I don't have a 4K setup, and even if I did, I recently bought the newly released 4K box set anyway. I was purely buying these for the artwork, since the original posters for Star Wars is where my appreciation for poster art first started. I've placed an order for this along with ANH, but not sure whether I'll keep them now, especially as money is short, so need to be super selective and only buy things I genuinely love.

tell you one thing i have thought about what if best buy do these but manage to get an art change for america with gone with the wind poster and thats why its not been announced yet. it could be under discussion you never know :D
i will so laugh if this does happen :hilarious:

how many who have bought this will be pissed?

Well that hasn't happened with any of the previous 4k Disney/Marvel steelbooks yet that got released in both countries.

So don't see why they would change this one particular steelbook.....

You know people can cancel right?

I don't have 4K either. Even if these weren't 4K I would still be buying them.
I only mentioned the 4K part because I's guessing that was the reason these were being released.

Of course, I guess they never need a reason to release another steelbook.

Again - it's not about wanting to cancel. Is the fact its a set that doesn't match that is annoying so many people.

My comment was a reply to Basil asking if people would be pissed if Best Buy used the preferred art.

Why would people be pissed if best Buy did? People could cancel their Zavvi order(s) and then order Best Buy's steelbooks if they were announced before Zavvi's release date.

People in North America will cancel their orders with Zavvi if Best Buy releases these even if the art is the same.
