LOL, clearly a cropped picture.
Not cropped they had a few differrent posters in cinemas of Darth Vader

The teaser version had coming to galaxy this summer the later versions did not have this

Both the teaser and later darth vader posters are official original posters
Both are using same darth vader image just slight differences in colour

Left poster is the 1980 image. Bottom is clearly cropped from the right teaser image.
The Teaser and 1980 official poster both used Darth Vader was used before Kastel Edited Poster appeared inside cinemas
Now do you understand

Kastel Edited Poster was used only inside a very small number cinemas after release date and was withdrawn from cinemas very quickly in May 1980 by Fox due to complaint by Billy De Williams
Most cinemas did not even use it

That was a Fox release not a disney release
Reminder that poster was withdrawn from cinemas for a reason back in May 1980 and was only used very breifly inside cinemas after release date

Disney temporarly used it for 40th Anniversary release on Disney + but again removed shorty after
The official Darth Vader Poster both teaser and Theatrical was before the Kastel Edited Image poster was used
yes, FOX used the artwork, but what's your point here? Di$n€¥ bought Star Wars & FOX, so...
you are telling us the same thing every post. WE KNOW that the Darth Vader Head is an official poster, but the other UK poster is also official, so why not using that instead?

There was a typo in the title.

The Empire Strikes Black!

Billy Dee didn't like it so it got pulled! :p

Darth Vader Teaser and Official Theatrical poster came before one used on the outside of the UK Odeon Royal Gala Premier
That's why

Both the Darth Vader posters was still used in the Cinema Lobby

USA used the Darth Vader image outside cinemas on release date and later used the one UK used
The Kastel Edited Poster was used inside some cinemas lobby but was removed quickly.

The original official Theatrical poster is the one of Darth Vader

The 4K steelbooks are using the original official Theatrical posters

Despite a lovely finish A NEW HOPE is a bit underwhelming in the flesh - hopefully THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK will be more impressive in hand.
Apart from that much prefer the look of the posters/steelbooks for I - III than the posters/steelbooks for IV-VI.

I always liked the ROTJ poster. And Empire SHOULD have been nice, if they did it properly!!

A New Hope is the most boring (not to mention misleading - a muscular Luke!!! :p ) poster of the original trilogy IMO.

I have always understood that. What I don’t understand is why of these two posters, they have used the teaser variant. Sure they both feature Darth Vader but they are different (star field, flare, colour, contrast, body). You even made the distinction yourself earlier in the thread.

Because they used the U.S. official theatrical release posters on the recent 4K wave of Marvel and Star Wars SteelBooks.

To say they should have used the UK poster for a movie made by an american owned studio for a SteelBook exclusive to a UK retailer is an opinion.

If you use 10 U.S. posters and 1 UK poster do you still have a matching set?
Or is it a matching set because all 11 will use the official U.S. posters?

It's all opinion. To say Disney failed is an opinion, not a fact.

Neither Disney nor Zavvi owe any of you an explanation or a statement as to why they have chosen the route they have.
Even if they did tell you the reason you wouldn't be satisfied. The SteelBook would still be the same and you would still be saying they should have done this or they should have done that.

Reminds me of children who are denied a candy bar.

CHILD: "Why can't I have a candy bar?!!!"
PARENT: "Because it will spoil your appetite for supper"
CHILD "Oh. OK I understand that it and makes perfect sense. That makes it all better." yeah as if.

Even if Disney told you the reason, you still wouldn't be satisfied.

Suck it up Buttercups.
