Boy this thread got ugly, I don't agree with personal attacks and for new HDN members I hope this doesn't put them off this great site.
I'm happy to join GB's here in general as sometimes due to work or family commitments I can't be there for when it goes live, plus I know the HDN fees help support this great site.
I just hope this doesn't put off GB hosts in general hosting GB's here.
Hopefully we can all look forward to this release and those that missed out can be helped here by other fellow ninjas.

Amen @Aniv

Im sick of this term scalper getting thrown about for anyone selling a steelbook at above cost around here or on eBay.

What is the statue of limitations on reselling on this site? Or in general?
Are we as people not allowed to change our minds on a release after it arrives or down the road? If something happens in my life and I'm strapped for cash and need to sell something and I know the steelbooks will get me out of a bind then I'll be selling them. If I know the value of a steelbook then I'm gonna ask for that value. If you buy a house for a hundred grand and then in a few years the market goes up and it's valued at a hundred and thirty grand then you're gonna sell it for the new price, not sell it for less. Aniv is right. Money talks.

God damned bitching and witch hunting because you couldn't cough up a few extra dollars for a piece of mind and a guaranteed copy.

Aniv, JCC told me at the same time I was going through PayPal payment to you, so his telling me made no difference since I would've discovered myself when I read the "ANIVDAS" PayPal username at checkout. LOL.

JCC wasn't the only one who knew before, either; someone else referenced that the seller I bought from would "have a garage full of them."

Nothing I posted is private because any member of the public can proceed through checkout at your eBay store and see all the information I posted (whether or not they complete a purchase, even).

As I said, I'm more amused than annoyed by this, especially with "ANIVDAS" in all caps showing itself at PayPal checkout. I had a good laugh out loud when I saw that.

I don't normally buy steelbooks and these will be the first rare ones I'll have. I also have no interest in future steelbook purchases outside of Star Wars and Star Trek.

Again, I support rather than oppose the group buys, and I also said that your eBay markup wasn't huge. I just think the community deserved to know about your "secret stash." Sorry, and thanks for the one-click. :)

You are welcome ;) Nice doing business with you too. Dont worry your copies will be minty mint like everybody else that purchased from here or outside of HDN.

Posting someone's personal information, including their photo with borderline libelous implications attached to it, over a meaningless piece of steel is ridiculous. It leads to internet mobbing and harassment.
Nothing I said was even "borderline" libelous.

The fact is no one knows the exact circumstances involved except Aniv. What happened with Ricardo was wrong, even though it was done with good intentions. You're just **** stirring.

You could have brought your concerns to Aniv directly through PMs with mods added to the conversation to get an explanation before considering going public, so that there'd be a full story for everyone to make a proper judgement call on. The fact is this release has caused a lot of bad behavior from people since the print run + number of editions was announced and you seem pretty gleeful about adding to it.
Everyone knows the "exact circumstances:" Aniv used his privileged position as a group buyer to obtain and hold several copies back without telling anyone. That's it, and that's all. There's no ambiguity here.

Again, though, I'm more amused than annoyed. Others seem a lot more irritated than I am, probably because they buy steels regularly whereas these are my first and I don't plan to buy more outside SW/ST.

haha telling anyone what? Do you want to buy the copies of Hulk and Dredd people didnt pay for at cost? Maybe if you show up with around 5-6k cash I can give you one more set of 1 click and several other items at cost.

I held back 289 one clicks. Everyone will still join the GB as they will get what they are paying for at clearly disclosed prices. You however wont be one of them and I dont think you will be banned either but you can watch as others secure it at cost and you miss out.
Wow, you held back 289 one-clicks to sell on eBay? Seriously?

Posting other people's personal information (addresses, emails, photos etc) without their permission isn't acceptable here, so certain posts have been removed.

As Simon has already said, let's move this along please. Further "scalper" or eBay talk in this thread will also be removed, but you're obviously free to continue the conversation through PMs with each other if you wish.

Thank you for your understanding! :)

Why don't you PM Aniv? Sounds like you have an agenda.
I don't know why you think that, nor why my post you quoted was removed, since it didn't contain any "personal information" and was a polite question in response to Aniv publicly saying he has Best Offers on his eBay store. I did privately message him, though, and he responded.

Your post was removed because you have been asked several times to move on. If you want to discuss this with Aniv please do it via PM. These posts are doing nothing but derailing the thread. Now let's try and get back on topic.

on lighter note watched the film this week totally awesome looking forward to the steelbook !

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much about the UK or most of rest of world steelbook as it's not great. The US version is better. The slips from Nova look like they're going to be fab though and I'll use one of the free pet slips and spine magnet on my UK steelbook. :D

I have done several GB's on here with @Aniv, and it has been nothing but great every time. He has helped out me and countless members get steelbooks at cost price and the benefit of avoiding dealing with Nova's ordering disaster.
So if he has a few and wants to sell them on eBay i have no problems with it, it's not against any rules. I'm not going to get into the scalper debate, but it's been used far too loosely and shouldn't be a blanket statement. So I'm happy to have him apart of the Ninja community.

You don't understand what I mean, actually; I'm not opposed to the group buy at all, just to the holding back of several copies which could've gone to those on the reserve
list.

its not your business how many copies he holds back HE does the group buys. why dont you try sending 600 blu rays. thats the perks of what he does. if he wants to hold back 150 copies then tough ****. getting pissed off saying your angry cause he held back 4 one clicks. ITS NOT YOUR BUSINESS, you have no right to say what he can and cannot do. what do you do for the steelbook community? he does group buys for every nova release and manta labs. enough of this bullshit, really. the naming and shaming has to end now

The thing is there are a number of members here that have been scalping for years without being hassled on the forum. A lot of members regularly purchase spare copies to 'trade' and that isn't considered an issue. It really is a terrible shame that two otherwise respected members of the forum have been castigated for something that is a lot more widespread than many would care to admit.

Couldn't agree more

It's also why I try to dodge the sales/ trade thread. It's like eBay part 2 half the time and no one batters an eye lid

I think I've found 2 or 3 decent sales threads of members in there. I won't name them as they know who they are and the only people I've dealt with through that part of the site (there are other great members too and GB hosts too but I've dealt with them outside the sales thread)

Cosmoterran went about this completely wrong by posting pics and personal info but at the same time I'm happy I know this info now as horrible as that may sound and as horribe the last 4 pages have been to read.

Same can be said for Ricardo, I know FAs sh*t don't stink rules (nothing to do with Karel) but Ricardo was also dealt with badly too and I also wish his new family the best.

If I had extreme financial problems, or starting a new family, buying a house, declared bankrupt etc I would also be selling of my whole collection (including my current 2 FACs) but I'll deal with that then if it ever happens

Many members have said that they want to know and do consider it their business.
why dont you try sending 600 blu rays.
Send advance payment for all 600 and I will indeed "try." ;)
if he wants to hold back 150 copies then tough ****.
If people can't deal with some harmless memes, then tough ****. :wacky:
getting pissed off saying your angry
I said I was annoyed, not "pissed off" nor "angry," and also that I was more amused than annoyed. :stop:
you have no right to say what he can and cannot do.
I never said he "can't" do this. Rather, I said I was disappointed that he chose to do this, and many agreed with me.
what do you do for the steelbook community?
I just joined, and already transferred to an established member at cost a lenticular I secured directly after 75 minutes on Nova. So, um, there!
enough of this bullshit, really. the naming and shaming has to end now
I did it because I think everyone has a right to know, at least, and also because I thought it was funny (which is why I posted harmless memes instead of cursing and threatening). Others reacted much more strongly than I did, again, probably because they purchase steels regularly, whereas I do not.

For the record, I still think Aniv is a good guy, really.
