Why is it that we can't just follow the requests of the mods and all of the standing members to just move on. I feel the warnings have gone on long enough and there should be some kind of repercussion as no one seems to understand what they are being asked to do.
I already decided not to say anymore unless directly addressed as above.

I think we should end this mindless argument. There is nothing to know here. I didn't steal anyones copies and resell it. I didn't hide my city or choose a rather inconspicuous email id making it hard for anyone with half a brain to guess. I am laughing as well because whatever the intentions might be they are futile. I repeat nobody can stop me from doing what I want to do. Steelbooks are not basic human necessities like water, food or medicine; Maybe we should ask Disney on why they charge $29 or $34 for something that costs $5 or less to make. They should help us view it for free. The people in here who have helped me get some stuff I need have received stuff from me at cost too ;) If I say a GB has 100 copies allocated that is what it will actually I went a little above the 100 I had allocated since people joining the GB are regulars and I decided to give out few more than originally promised.

Why did you give the copy you secured to an established member at cost? So called already has a 1 click secured from the GB??

Here's my opinion if anyone cares...

Group Buys take a lot of time and work. GB Hosts make money. Some make a little, some make a lot. Some do free ones from time to time and make nothing. (I know cause of I've done it plenty of times) But no one does free ones forever as its just too much work to continually sustain without burnout. Let's not forget about tax implications for those of us who play by all the rules. You cannot do everything for free forever.

A GB Host works with the retailer to obtain copies. If anyone feels a GB Host is doing the Company a disservice then they should complain to that Company. Not saying you cant speak your mind here as that's what a forum is for as well. Just saying that moaning on HDN many times is not enough to change something as opposed to complaining to the retailer.

The sad fact is you will find out that many retailers (the smaller ones) may not care as much. I'm not finger pointing at any one retailer, but I've had first hand information in this segment for a long time now. So I know exactly what I'm talking about even if I'm not coming right out and saying it. If you want juicy geek speak then you can show up at this year's Mondo Con and buy me a beer. :p

Most people who join Group Buys realize there is some sort of fee on top. Most are fine with that for the simple peace of mind knowing they have their copies secured.

In a perfect world there would be no group buys and all retailers would ship world wide like Zavvi. That's what I would like. But ... that will never happen.

In regards to Aniv, if he is truly doing something wrong then that judgment would come from Nova. If Nova knows and doesn't like it then action will be taken. But if Aniv is operating within the rules of his relationship with Nova then thats what it is. You like it or dont, and if you don't then just like any buying decision you make in life you either choose to support it or not.

I've always known there was gonna come days like this in regards to Aniv. I know of many resellers who double as Group Buy Hosts. People from other sites, here, etc. Most of them resell "in the shadows" so the majority of folks never know. Aniv has been pretty transparent and often times blunt. Some will respect him for being transparent and others will want to raise up their pitch forks. And since his competitors obviously don't like what is going on there will always be agendas. There will be fans, there will be haters ... but that comes with that territory.

I will always have the stance that I want the community of HDN to always have the ability to obtain the items they want here on HDN. Options and choices that then the members choose. If a person decides to try and use HDN and the fine members of this community then at that point you can surely guess that they will no longer have my resources and support.

In closing please everyone never post out people's personal information. It's just wrong especially in the time we are living in. If you feel like you have discovered something that is wrong then you are free to bring it up to myself or staff who may have further knowledge to piece things together and see if any action needs to be taken. If you think its something in regards to retailers then perhaps its best to talk to the retailer.

Good! I hope you saw my memes before they were deleted and that they made you laugh. They weren't meant to be mean.

I agree!

I did not know this and he did not mention it. I offered my lenticular to any member here. Three people asked and I chose him because he lives closest to me. I should have specified I wanted it to go someone who didn't already have something. I will ask him about this privately. Thanks for informing me.

I must say, a great post

If your happy buying me a plane ticket I'd happily come mondo con meet you (and I imagine tridon) and have a beer over geek speak and Steelbook ogling :D:p;) (love the term geek speak)

(Or maybe I can afford my own ticket one day :woot::cool: that would be cool)

So I'm guessing nova fall into that small company don't care box (well I knew that anyway, you don't have to confirm it lol) if they are happy mostly selling to everyone other than their own site like resellers etc (others earlier in the thread before all this kicked off mentioned the under the table sales of stock elsewhere which I wasn't aware off except GB hosts on this site and others)

It's a shame about smaller companies like you say, it's very noticeable sometimes

I come from a very dysfunctional family. We are always bickering and making mountains out of molehills.
That's why I like coming to this site to relax and get away from all bickering and fighting.:p

I will be one of those people putting my Best Buy steel in one of my Nova lenti slips.

@Wreck I thank you for your post. I read it with great interest. Because it shows fairness and that you have sympathy for both sides of the conflict.

And if it's like Aniv said, everyone can do what they want with their copy, then this should apply to all members here (also those joining FAC GBs), don't you think?

I don't think so in the interest of morality and ethics. Buying a spare or two to resell is fine as one might possibly see some.profit and use that to fund future purchases but reselling dozens or more only condones scalping.

However if it was me I wouldn't care what my buyers does with the items bought off me. They can stamp on it, keep it sealed, resell it or do whatever they like.

Glad I secured a lenti after trying for over an hour for slip. Watched my zavvi copy last night. (Please dont shoot me) I think this film is not as good on repeat viewings and dare I say slightly boring. Still a solid 7/10 tho
